Romance of the Three Kingdoms XII with Power Up Kit

Easily one of my favourite game because I can choose Liu Bei from 184 and trigger all the events, This is the only RoTK series that allows you to do that, and being able to witness the downfall and the uprising of Liu Bei over and over it's really very exciting. An absolute must for every Liu Bei fan!

I played RTK12 on console and bought the PC version during a sale, so I don’t have much playtime on Steam. I know the lack of English support is a deal breaker for many, but objectively speaking, RTK12 has great and fun gameplay. You should definitely check it out if you can read the language or don’t mind using an unofficial English translation.

I have played all RTKs from 1 to 14, 12 is the last one I got my hands on. What a hidden gem that I almost missed out! There are a fews things I like and dislike about RTK12 but overall it ranks at the very top S tier among the 14 titles. As u all might already know, each title feels & plays differently, some have career mode where u can play as a general instead of ruler, some have hotseat mode, so if u are a fan of strategy turn-based games, I am sure out of the 14, 1 of them will be your favourite. I play the game in English Windows 11 and there were no issues, the save & load feature is working fine. I can read Traditional Chinese, but I think you can always use Google Lens if you dont know the language. DISLIKES -Charisma stat is absent, robbing Liu Bei of his best trait NEUTRAL -You can only recruit 1 general per RecruitBureau per turn. In other RTK games, this is limited by the number of personnel u have. Of course, u can build 3 bureaus in 1 city but the slots for buildings are limited LIKES -nurturing 1 fictional Talents per year. Its kinda like character creation in RPGs, u choose from several options to guide the pathway your new Talent is good at. This is something I dont see in other RTKs -presence of Grand Strategy/Policy feature, where u can choose & activate. It last for several months, cost is Grand strategy points which u accumulate -real time war movements with pause -can only recruit from adjacent states if have the appropriate skill (fair gameplay). There is a Grand Strategy that allows you to recruit across the whole realm. There is a Grand Strategy that allows you to sabotage the general's loyalty of other factions (but you must have the appropriate personnel that possess that ability) -presence of in-game editor So far, I am loving what I see, and it definitely feels more enjoyable than even RTK13 or RTK14. Will edit more in future as I play more.
