Pill Baby

after finishing this game i had mixed feelings about it. the story is gravely undermined by the gameplay. i don't want to sound like a gamer(tm), but it honestly frustrated me. i'm writing this some time later, and have to say that i don't remember being compelled by what this game is doing artistically. it is, for sure, interesting, but all i can think of while watching the trailer up there is that i wish i experienced it like that. the contrast between what i remember experiencing and what the trailer makes me expect gives me whiplash. support the game! support indies! just don't expect an actual adventure here, it is not quite that.

A hyper-bizarre, surreal brawler that feels like a fever dream. The combat loop is relatively simple, heavy emphasis on timing your dodges and parries against some incredibly weird enemy designs, but it’s the disturbing, abstract visuals and intense atmosphere that carry the experience. It’s short, experimental, and perfectly captures that niche, late-night indie vibe.
