Ну а если вы любитель исторических баталий, то добро пожаловать в готовые сценарии (как идущие в комплекте с игрой, так и скачиваемые), где вы сможете поучаствовать в любом вооруженном конфликте середины XX века. Игра предлагает безграничные возможности в создании собственной армии. Почувствуйте себя Климентом Ворошиловым: определите численный и качественный состав дивизий, структуру фронтов и штабов, отправьте эшелоны с подкреплениями именно туда, где они сейчас нужны, да хоть перебрасывайте через всю карту танковые дивизии (хватило бы паровозов)! При всем богатстве возможностей и не самом современном интерфейсе, игра достаточно проста в освоении (для варгейма). Многие вещи интуитивно понятны, нет необходимости просчитывать в блокноте захлебнется или нет планируемая атака, хватит ли парням снабжения еще на пару ходов и т.д. Придется, конечно, пару раз прочитать мануал (элементарно гуглится манул уже на русском языке), но куда уж без этого? Если вас не пугают неспешные варгеймы, если вы цените такие мужские развлечения, как организация котла для десятка вражеских дивизий, то эта игра вам определенно понравится. К тому же, ее цена в Стиме вполне демократична (на фоне офф. сайта Матриксов :)

No NATO counters setting unless I'm only starting a new Phoenix version game? Lame! I brought this up in the discussions and just got a speech and an insult from a modder about how I'm supposed to be ok with it. Acted like I personally attacked him or something just for bringing this up. Even called me a troll for having the complaint. Weird. After a bizarre exchange, he got all power-trippy and combative. It was something to behold. I don't need any speeches; just give me a solution. He acted like there wasn't one and that I was the problem. But later it turned out there was a solution. All that nagging and talking for nothing, and no help. Going on about modding and all the other iterations of this game, from fantasy to other periods where NATO counters aren't an issue and wouldn't be for me either, which was never the point anyway. Just kept adding fuel to the fire and wouldn't stop. A military strategy game company that tries to gaslight users and calls them names if they have a complaint, as if they are the problem. Nice business strategy. Edit: Now, after this review and dealing with more hostility from the same vindictive representative/modder, or whatever he tries to paint himself as. He decided to escalate even further. Pretty out of hand and ridiculous at this point. I did get a proper response from the developer finally. Which helps, and I do appreciate that at least. However, I can't really say it changes my overall opinion, especially with this little ATG fiefdom this other guy seems to have going here, on top of other things here and there I never liked. He is all over the other two websites associated with this game too. I've had other bad experiences with Matrix and Slitherine in the past. I don't particularly like the VR designs site much either. I'm just one man. All I can do is boycott this nonsense with my pocketbook. He claims he can act any way he wishes to customers because he is not an employee. Nice work ethic and professionalism they engage in here. My bad experiences with computer wargaming keep mounting. Yes, the NATO counter thing is a minor issue added to all the others I have. Still haven't found anything that properly scratches the itch for me that a good, well-made hex-and-counter board game provided in the days of old. Thus, this review, even though I have spent many hours on this game. Of course, that means there are things I like about it, but not compared to some other gaming experiences I like. It had some promise and maybe still could. Still not enough to totally win me over. Might be for some people, though. Still has plenty of good reviews by others. A matter of taste, I guess. I actually did like the initial Decisive Campaigns Series and liked the idea of that being transferred into an expanded capability that this game seemed to offer; however, that's not what this game ended up feeling like at all. Let's just say that if you are like me and liked board games like Squad Leader and World in Flames, and other games of that nature in the miniature gaming hobby realm, this game will not be as fun for you. And God forbid you have a complaint, and this guy has a problem with you. Ever seen that Soup Nazi episode of Seinfeld? It's like that, but then he never shuts up. He thinks this review is just about him personally. No. It wouldn't have been written if it weren't for him; that's true, but this is just how I've always felt about this game and these companies. I could say more. Even if I hadn't uninstalled this game and still wanted to be a part of this community, I couldn't now because of this individual's presence and hounding. The most unprecedented experience I've ever had in the gaming world in my life. I put this on the companies themselves for allowing it.

Perfectly scratches the itch for tactical combat combined with typical 4X/Grand Strategy aspects. The random map generator and customization of the game allows for a tailor made experience for you. Truly a unique gem of a game with sparse but continuous patches for over a decade.
