Utawarerumono: ZAN

25 Missions, but faily enjoyable. I expected a mousou but it felt more like a mix between a VN and a Tales of game, due to the amount of unique bosses.

A decent musou game for Utawarerumono fans that have already played through the VN or watched the anime. The story is heavily cut which is a shame and I would only recommend playing through this one because ZAN 2 is actually an improvement to ZAN in terms of gameplay and one I would actually recommend playing through.

Should you play this as someone who hasnt played an Utawarerumono game? *** no. These games are an extremely truncated version of the "real games". You play Zan 1 and 2 after beating the previous 3 games. It took me 5 hours to beat this game, it took me 34 hours to beat Mask of Deception. Are Zan good games? Eh kinda, I believe they are Senran Kagura esc games so if you like those you can like this. Should you play these games if you loved the original games? If you want to give Aquaplus more money like you should, then yeah buy them and give them a go, honestly I wanted to play the Zan games because Zan 2 adds some sick ass post game content that goes beyond the story the third game ends at. And if you're reading this and havent experienced the first 3 games please do, Utawarerumono is one of the few truely beautiful stories I have ever experienced in my life. I dont want to understate it but it changes your life forever.
