I've played Bethesda games with over a thousand mods enabled that runs more smoothly and crashes less than this game. "VirtualAlloc (at place 2) returned NULL" that I've tried a hundred fixes for that makes me have to redo almost every 3rd battle, units getting stuck underground in battles resulting in battles being unable to be won. Absolutely horrible.
Game is ok, mods are great but i give negative because of LITTLE updates that crashing my saves... and making anything else than 64 bit update is waste of time and money from ca

I genuinely struggle to understand why ROME II is still treated as one of the great Total War games. The campaign has plenty of ambition, but the execution is frustrating. The AI can be incredibly inconsistent, diplomacy often feels shallow and unpredictable, and the campaign mechanics frequently create unnecessary micromanagement instead of meaningful strategic decisions. Then there are the battles. Units can behave stupidly, pathfinding can become a mess, and siege battles are particularly frustrating when units struggle to move properly through gates, streets and narrow areas. Watching supposedly organized armies turn into a chaotic blob because the AI cannot handle basic movement is not exactly the grand strategy experience I was promised. The game also suffers from the usual Total War problems: questionable AI decisions, repetitive battles, awkward animations and technical issues
