TOMOMI

Short, bite-sized metroidvania. Not particularly challenging outside of a few knowledge checks (one of the bosses in particular), but that's fine. The small story that exists serves its purpose and the dialogue is fun. There's a decent amount of enemy variety for it's scale. The movement in this game is pretty fluid and feels very nice to control, as do the attacks. The spinning aerial slash is of note for being especially fun to let loose. The OST of this game is a real treat too--really surprised me in some places for both boss fights and area music. Art style is cute and the pixel work is nice. The game has warp zones, though they are heavily limited. That said, I don't think you ever need to backtrack for anything more than once or twice; the level will loop you around to place you're gonna be going to eventually. Or you can buy the game for 2 other reasons.

Although I prefer ROLLING STAR, it's nice to see where it all started. TOMOMI is concise, fun and just as addicting (extra cringe humor, though).

Well designed Metroidvania that doesn't overstay it's welcome. Beatable in 3-4 hours depending on how good you are at games but has plenty of upgrades to keep things fresh and fun. Movement is also pretty smooth and fast, combat is simple but perfectly fine. Also really like the artstyle of the characters and the fun dialogue between the two main characters. The map design is also pretty good, not confusing and there's plenty of secrets to be found too. Recommended for such a fair price.
