The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

This is my first time playing Oblivion and as much as I love how the remaster looks, and as much as fun as I'm having with the game, I can't recommend it when it's even buggier than vanilla skyrim was on launch without mods. Not to mention that Bethesda didn't even bother to fix the original bugs on top of ADDING NEW BUGS due to UE5 being layered on top of the original engine.

I absolutely love it! I played the original back in 2006 and loved it back then as well. Now, I have found a completely new appreciation for how amazing Oblivion is. The graphics look incredible! Yet, it takes me right back and makes me feel at home. I played Morrowind back in the day as well and loved it but it's too dated for me now. I also played Skyrim but honestly, I found Skyrim super underwhelming. It lacked any kind of charm and the feel of what TES felt was lacking. A good game in its own right, but also 1000% overrated, and Oblivion is 1000% underrated! Again, it's incredibly charming, cozy and packed with content and details. The choices are yours on how to handle things. You're not a demi-god like in Skyrim, you're a guy with a destiny, and the path is entirely yours. It has quirks for sure but it never takes away from the experience. Settings and Performance Performance has been great with no issues on 1440p at ultra settings. Only 4 things I turned to High for performance increase: • View Distance Quality • Shadow Quality • Global Illumination Quality • Lumen Hardware RT Lighting Mode Mods installed for minor changes • Better HUD Slim - To get the original feel back • No More Repairing - I get no joy out of maintaining gear at all • Better Reticle - I prefer a small dot in all my games • Realistic High Quality Skin - No idea what Bethesda was going for with the scale like skin • Stop Attacking my Horse and remove Horse Name - Always been annoying

Unfortunately, can't recommend. Oblivion is a brilliant game, and the remaster is very pretty and adds a few quality of life updates to an absolute classic. But it's unoptimized ***. They dropped the release to massive fanfare only to do nothing to actually fix the game when it came out buggy and runs like absolute turd.
