This game is incredibly addicting. It satisfies my itch to 'terraform' planets as well as problem solve, automate, and continually refine/improve my solutions/strategies. I can play it actively or passively, which is also a huge plus for the types of games that I enjoy.
I really enjoy this game. It has the right mixture of challenge and reward. While most incremental/idler games solve big-number problems mainly by making you wait, this game often encourages you to find alternative solutions, including some genuinely out-of-the-box thinking. The way physics and chemical reactions are implemented shows a lot of attention to detail. For example, you can mix hydrogen and oxygen in the atmosphere to heat up the planet, or increase the planet's rotation speed to reduce effective gravity. Little mechanics like these make the systems feel much more interconnected than in most incremental games. Another aspect I really enjoy is the automation. As the game progresses, you unlock more and more ways to automate repetitive tasks, from building presets and colony management to scripting conditions and switching strategies automatically. As someone with a programming background, I find it especially satisfying to optimize these systems and gradually turn a complicated manual process into something that can mostly run by itself. It gives the late game a nice engineering/optimization feel instead of just becoming more clicking. A lot of the later technologies and especially the megastructures remind me of Stellaris and Warhammer 40K, which definitely appeals to my sci-fi side. The Discord community is also quite active. Whenever I ran into a mechanic or challenge I couldn't figure out, I was able to find an answer there. Overall, if you like incremental games but want something with more problem-solving, experimentation, automation, and sci-fi engineering than simply waiting for numbers to go up, I can highly recommend it.
This game is fantastic. It's like Kittens Game but much faster. It's also similar to another favorite terraforming game Fate of the World. I love these sort of large scale unfolding type of games. Another one to keep an eye on is Terraformental. Not sure if it is a terraforming game but you're on another planet so there's that!
