Tavern Master

**My tavern was thriving. My enthusiasm wasn’t.** I liked Tavern Master. Building up a little tavern, expanding it and watching the place fill with customers is satisfying. It’s easy to get into, and the early progression makes it a pleasant game to spend a few evenings with. Unfortunately, that enjoyment doesn’t last as long as the game wants you to keep playing for little to no reward. Once everything is established, it becomes repetitive. The interesting decisions start drying up, progress slows down, and you spend more time waiting for requirements to tick over. There’s only so much excitement in watching a successful business continue being successful. **For me, there were perhaps 10 hours of enjoyable gameplay at most.** After that, I ended up carrying on for the completion achievement rather than because I was still having fun. That distinction matters when you’re looking at someone’s playtime and deciding whether to buy. The later stages would benefit from more varied challenges, meaningful decisions and better pacing. Repeating the same routine for longer doesn’t make the ending more rewarding. **A qualified recommendation:** enjoyable as a relaxed tavern builder, but the push for completion outstays its welcome.

Seriously lacking in depth for a tycoon style game. As other reviews have mentioned, there simply isn't much to this game and it doesn't have the necessary depth to appeal to die-hard tycoon/management game fans. It is also very unpolished in certain areas. For example, if you save and quit in the middle of the day with a tavern full of customers, when you load the save your tavern is empty and you have to wait for the customers to respawn in to the map and walk back into your tavern. It's just sloppy. Score: Meh/10 I've played for about 13 hours and have no real reason to invest any more time into it. I paid £4 for it during a sale and personally think it's worth no more than maybe £7

I had a go of the demo when i was ill a while ago. and enjoyed it...... Ive been ill again, so bought the game., Completed and now I will be making a Weatherspoons like establishment where all of the punters have to go up to the top floor to get drunk passing as many luxury hotel rooms as i can fit. With plenty of axe throwing games up against their walls. Might post pictures when its done, probably next time im ill. lololol
