Shrine's Legacy

Game is shallow. Cliche setup with nothing new. Gameplays is a bit clunky, boss battles are silly. Characters and story development feels forced. Art is generic. Not bad, but generic. Music is generic. Not bad, but generic. Not worth the full price.

I really wanted to like this game. I was/am a big fan of Secret of Mana, I played it new. I love couch co-op games, and was really looking forward to this. And then I played it. And the fact that this has good reviews shows just how neglected this gaming segment is. The dialog is terrible. It's probably 3rd or 4th grade level. The gameplay is absolute basic. Move and hit. There is "dodging" but it doesn't really do much. Magic is... basic. The whole game is just mediocre, bland, basic. If this was skinned in sprites with fewer colors, it would be right at home with original NES games in feel and lack of complexity. Overall, just a big disappointment.
