Jewel Match Solitaire

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this game, not only because it does not work on my system, but also because of my experience with technical support. The game crashes immediately after I enter a player name, making it completely unplayable. I contacted technical support and spent quite a lot of time trying to solve the problem. I followed the suggested troubleshooting steps, changed Windows Defender settings, manually created the folders the game was supposed to use, added them to Defender exclusions, and provided video recordings demonstrating both the problem and the steps I had taken. Unfortunately, none of this solved the issue. What disappointed me even more was the attitude of technical support. Instead of investigating why this particular game fails on my system, I was repeatedly told that there was nothing wrong with the game and that the problem was with Windows. No convincing evidence was provided to support this conclusion. At one point I was simply referred to Google for further troubleshooting. When I pointed out that I had played dozens of other games on the same Windows installation this year without encountering anything similar, and asked what specific Windows permission or restriction they believed was causing the problem and how we could verify it, I received no further response at all. I am perfectly willing to troubleshoot a technical problem together with a developer. I provided videos, followed the instructions I was given and performed additional tests. But simply declaring that the operating system is responsible, without demonstrating why, sending the customer to Google, and eventually ignoring them is not what I consider adequate technical support. Perhaps the game works perfectly well for other players. Unfortunately, in my case I paid for a game that I cannot even get past the player name screen, and after all the troubleshooting I still have neither a working game nor an explanation of what exactly is wrong. For that reason, I cannot recommend it.

Like all the other Jewel Match Solitaire it's a solid puzzle game. This one feels pretty dated compared to the others with some jank they ironed out in later titles, but the gameplay is good. I recommend picking this one up if you're a fan of the other games, but I'd say play a more modern one if this is gonna be your first Jewel Match Solitaire game.

Not a huge fan of having to complete castles before moving past a certain point. The random nature of Solitaire and finding the dang emeralds leads to repeating levels or using the shop to buy special cards. But, overall it's an enjoyable solitaire game. Hours of content here depending on how lucky you get with the cards.
