High School Odyssey

It would be a great game if it worked. Game constantly crashes at a certain point when you reach a point where it seems like you can actually romance a character. Would be great but again, crashes at the same spot every single time without fail. If they fixed the issue would be great.

It's fun with the story and action elements and would be a decent game if not for the common crashes. I was only in 30 minutes when it crashed again. And then again another 10 minutes later. I just started playing after a fresh boot.

TL;DR 10/10: Imagine True Love but with mini-games, fighting, lighter visual novel elements, and no hentai. Overview What's so special about 1997, anyway? That's for the player to find out in High School Odyssey, in which the main character goes back in time to 1997 due to an eclipse and visits his former self who's in school. But doing what? Maybe being a good student, maybe being a bad boy, but given how High School Odyssey is primarily a date sim, you better believe the main character is meeting girls. Like any dating sim, money is an issue, so the player will need to be earning to buy gifts for the girls or buy stuff for themselves to up their stats. Graphics and Sound The graphics are on the simple side with backgrounds looking like RL places with a filter applied. Although any players looking to seduce Miss Gao might wanna mute the music and instead play the Van Halen song Hot For Teacher. Positives and Negatives The game is n00b friendly... But how n00b friendly is unknown because ol' Il Pallino is doing fine playing on the Nightmare difficulty setting. Apart from a tile puzzle game used for off-campus jobs, there's several real time elements used for some of the other mini games which the player may either enjoy the variety, or detest that they can't just play at a slow pace. There are numerous archtypes the player can choose from on top of a significant number of love interests, so High School Odyssey has replay value. Despite being a date sim with anime girls, High School Odyssey does not contain any adult scenes. While this may sound like blasphemy for a dating sim game, at least this is the one dating sim game that a player can play in front of their family. Random events that happen when leaving areas is interesting. (It's not known if the "tricycle" encountered is called a tricycle in China, but in America, we call those things rickshaws!) Conclusion A definite buy... If the player can enjoy romancing girls who keep their clothes on. Be sure to look out for number one...
