College Baseball: Dynasty Builder

I think this is one of my favorite sport sims ever. It's just easy to play and enjoy and it has the mechanics to be fun and its being improved all the time. I'm happy to have found this game!

I'm a big fan of the sports management games, and I'd been looking for one that scratched a particular itch for college baseball. This did it... a real good scratch. It's still in development, and it's somewhat bare-bones at the moment. It's got the systems in place like the other sports management games do, and it works very similar to the football and basketball management games from this genre. There are differences, too. Recruiting is different and takes a bit to begin understanding it. You'll have to start a half-dozen games from the beginning to begin feeling comfortable with it. What I really enjoy about these types of game is being able to mod them with different leagues, teams, and conferences. The JSONs are easy to modify and there are plenty of sets to download from the Discord. Years of the past, conferences long-gone. Create your own university to crawl from the bottom to with the CWS. What really got me to get this game, however, was the inclusion of a High School mode. You'll have to download a league from the Discord or make your own, but it's right there in the game. It's not just a clone, either. Tryouts replace recruiting. State championships from class 1A all the way up to... whatever you want. The game's got room to grow. It's got muscles and can train to be a powerhouse in the genre. There's a group of helpful players, and the dev, hanging out on Discord to help and discuss the game. I made a small suggestion about a recruiting screen, and before I even had finished the next recruiting week, the dev had made the change and updated Steam. If you like this genre, and like baseball... I'd say give it a try.

This is my kind of sports management sim - enough depth to be compelling, not too much that I can't get a few seasons in during a shorter session. Having a lot of fun with it so far and the dev has been very responsive in the Discord. Looking forward to sinking more time into this one.
