This game is a gem! It is hard to compare it to other games in the genre, but it has a lot to offer. Some games have one or two strong points, this game is like five unique games in one. You can tweak everything in the settings to your preferences. The game plays amazingly smooth. The ways you can optimize are genious ( the stacking algorithm is something a lot of other rts/ strategy games could use ) From the difficulty to the type of AI, the map type, minor factions. The AI will provide you a challenge if you want, or you can play cassual. There are mods that make the game feel new again. But what makes the game so addictive for me: From the start you have to make decissions that will affect the kind of game you will play, and on top there is a mid game that requires you having to deal with the consequenses of those decissions, and if you think it is smooth sailling till the end, yes there is an end game that actually keeps things interesting till the very end. For those who struggle to get going, I strongly recommend checking out the tutorials on youtube. Strategic Sage has an excellent series.

AI War 2 feels like a "real" strategy game. It's not resource management, APM and micro that dictate how well you will do, but your choices in how to confront the enemeis the game throws at you. I play without the DLCs/expansions and it's fun and content rich on its own.

No translation available. After completing the training, I understood the basic mechanics and controls. When I started the game, I captured the planets that, in my opinion, were worth getting a penalty for attracting the AI’s attention. I summoned some ancient evil, fought off enemy waves, hacked into databases, and at one point the game told me I had won. But I still didn’t understand what the game’s goal was. There’s no point in continuing to figure it out. I also didn’t like the interface.
