Don’t play this game if you’re new. You’re not gonna have any fun. You spend time learning the game, figuring out the cards and how everything works, and then you finally think, “Alright, let me try ranked and see what I can do .” Then your very first ranked game puts you against some guy who has been playing Yu-Gi-Oh! since he was 9 and has already won several tournaments. Like, seriously? What am I even supposed to do against this guy? I just started playing. And that’s the problem. You spend all this time trying to learn the game, only to get thrown against someone who has been playing for years and knows every card, every combo and probably what you’re gonna do before you even know what you’re doing. Just play Hearthstone or Magic: The Gathering instead. This game is trash. The only good thing about this game is that you don’t have to play it.

I came from Duel Links. Master Duel was fun at first. I started to notice that often after I won a ranked match, I was more likely to lose the coin toss. I usually had to go second, but somehow I still managed to hit a certain rank. That's when things started to get rough. I doubted that I was just being biased, so I manually tracked my coin toss results, and surprisingly, they showed that I lost around 70% of the time, resulting in going second so often. I'm surprised by how going first in Master Duel brings so many advantages—you can set up your field, disrupt your opponent as much as you can on the next turn, and still easily recover afterward. Maybe I should learn to play a deck that's good at going second? Nah! I'm tired of reading card text. Now I've also confirmed that I'm targeted somehow by tracking my own coin toss results. So bye...
If you're a new player and you try to play online you'll nearly always get players way above your level and never really be able to enjoy the game or rank upНе рекомендует · 19 сент. 2026 г. · Отзыв на английском

Dear Konami team, I started playing this game because some of my colleagues recommended it to me. Unfortunately, I have to say that it doesn't really feel like the Yu-Gi-Oh! I remember from back in the day. Of course, the game has evolved over time, which is understandable, but personally I'm not really a fan of the direction it has taken. The worst parts are actually the endless wait until your opponent is done. So when it feels like your opponent is taking 30 minutes and you basically can't do anything and you effectively only have one minute of playtime. Unfortunately, it's a waste of time for me. In normal ranked matches, you mostly run into the boring meta decks, which makes the gameplay feel pretty repetitive. I also feel like the game is mainly designed for experienced Yu-Gi-Oh! veterans and isn't very beginner-friendly. One positive aspect is that there are constant updates,

… Konami does not, nor have they ever cared about players or feedback.
Yu-gi-oh has fallen in the past decade and become a pissing contest of who can win in one turn first. If you like being locked in a cutscene of solitaire and combos for 9 hours with no counterplay, this is the game for you. Do yourself a favor and put a belt sander against your nuts and it'll have the same experience. everyone runs the same 4-5 various Overpowered decks that just remove your ability to have any interaction or back and forth gameplay. 20+ summons per turn, 7 omni-negates. The FF button is your only escape. Konami does not, nor have they ever cared about players or feedback.

NOT NEW PLAYER FRIENDLY You will win about ten matches, then reach the meta. You will have people setting up near impossible fields and the players here LOVE drawing out their turns. They will have win condition and still sit there FOREVER doing wild combos instead of just taking the W. The game mainly focuses around turn 1-2 win conditions, heavy countering, and chain play. Getting a deck that can handle everyone in silver using meta WILL cost you money or grinding losses for weeks. Game is filled with people who need a shower, and are obviously banned from card shops. Hard pass.
…laying it so much, 0 to none incentives to play it, unfortunately the game Yuigioh itself is a very toxic experience that i wouldn't recommend others to play, save yourself the rage, the annoyingness and the time to play this poor of a virtual TCG game.
The game is just like the trading card game, you go 2nd you auto lose. And it doesn't really reward you for playing it so much, 0 to none incentives to play it, unfortunately the game Yuigioh itself is a very toxic experience that i wouldn't recommend others to play, save yourself the rage, the annoyingness and the time to play this poor of a virtual TCG game. This is coming from someone that used to play the TCG game, I was hoping to have a better and fast paced experience but no, its just as toxic as the physical game with non existent balance.
Wish they would add a permanent "retro" only card pool gamemode for ranked play. The new cards are too complicated and ruined the game. I just enjoy the old fusion era cards.Не рекомендует · 4 окт. 2026 г. · Отзыв на английском
