Truth of Beauty Witch -Marine's treasure ship- is a compact Japanese horror adventure that takes the familiar side-scrolling unease of the Tsugunohi style and combines it with the colorful personality of VTuber Houshou Marine. Developed by Vaka Game Magazine and ImCyan and published by Vaka Game Magazine, it is less concerned with conventional game mechanics than with creating an increasingly disturbing atmosphere. The result is an intentionally straightforward experience in which walking, observing, and noticing changes become the primary means of interacting with its strange world. The story places the protagonist aboard Houshou Marine's pirate ship as a newly recruited crew member. At first, this seems like an enviable position, especially for someone thrilled by the opportunity to meet the famous captain personally. The excitement does not last. One unsettling question begins to dominate the situation: if this is Marine's ship, where exactly is everyone else? The absence of a proper crew gradually transforms the cheerful fantasy into a mystery, and after the protagonist notices something suspicious, increasingly unnatural events begin occurring. The central question eventually shifts toward Marine herself and the disturbing secret supposedly connected to her beauty. Gameplay follows a deliberately minimalist structure. Players generally proceed through side-scrolling scenes while watching the environment and characters for changes. There is no emphasis on elaborate combat systems, complicated inventories, or sprawling exploration. Instead, repetition is used as a psychological tool. Locations that initially seem ordinary become progressively less trustworthy as new details appear, familiar objects change, and supernatural imagery begins invading the surroundings. Knowing that something is probably different without knowing exactly what has changed creates much of the tension. This simplicity works especially well when the game begins manipulating expectations. Repeatedly moving through similar areas encourages players to inspect backgrounds, expressions, objects, and environmental details more carefully than they normally would. A familiar corridor can become threatening simply because the player expects something terrible to appear within it. The game understands that anticipation can be more effective than constantly throwing monsters or jump scares at the screen. When the more dramatic horror moments arrive, they benefit from the tension created during the quieter sequences. Houshou Marine's inclusion also gives the experience an eccentric personality. Her pirate theme and recognizable characteristics naturally fit the setting, but the game twists that familiar persona into something increasingly sinister. References and small jokes associated with Marine are scattered throughout the adventure, giving knowledgeable fans additional details to appreciate. However, the basic horror story remains understandable without extensive familiarity with VTubers or hololive. Existing fans will simply recognize more of the humor and deliberate contrasts between Marine's public persona and the darker interpretation presented here. The visual direction is particularly effective because attractive anime imagery and disturbing horror elements are placed directly beside one another. Cute character presentation makes later distortions feel more uncomfortable, while the restricted side-view perspective allows scenes to be carefully composed. Background details become important because players quickly learn not to treat anything as permanently safe or decorative. The game does not require photorealistic graphics to generate fear; its effectiveness comes from altering familiar imagery and using visual deterioration to suggest that the situation is slipping further away from reality. Its biggest limitation is that players have relatively little mechanical freedom. Anyone expecting extensive puzzles, combat, exploration, character deve…

Tsugunohi collab time again, this time focusing on Marine Houshou of Hololive. In spite of the presentation one would expect from this series, the tone is firmly tonue-in-cheek & does not even bother trying with spookiness. Ultimately incredibly amusing even without being up on her lore.
