Treeplanter: Plant real trees🌲

A little masterpiece. Relaxing atmosphere and minimalism. I recommend to support developer and our most beautiful planet.

Unfortunately I couldn't get it going. I'm on Linux Mint, but the two different Proton Compatibility Layers I tried didn't work (this is unusual), and neither did running it in a Windows sandbox (which really SHOULD have worked; that was the desperation move!). This is the first Windows Steam game I've tried that NO workaround works for, and for which I have to do a hard reset to get it off the black screen that appears whenever I try to play it. It might be a good game but I'm not in a position to say. I returned it for a refund after I ran out of "Play Already You Dratted Thing!" options. So... if you use Linux, DO NOT buy this game. When it says native Windows, it REALLY means it.

It feels more like a project than a game, and honestly, that's exactly what it is. The developer says they plant one real tree for every copy sold, and that's the main reason I bought it. I really like the idea that you can have a small positive impact on the real world just by buying and playing a game on Steam. The "Game" There isn't really a goal or traditional gameplay here. It's more of a sandbox where you create your own experience. The best use I found was building beautiful little scenes with different trees, lighting, and colors, then taking screenshots to use as wallpapers. Visually, it's genuinely impressive. The lighting is excellent, the environments are colorful and relaxing, and the overall art style feels unique. There are plenty of tools that let you create your own scenes, and that's clearly where most of the effort went. What I'd Like to See I'd love to see the developer add at least some Steam achievements. Trading cards, badges, or even profile items would also be a great fit. Considering the game's unique visual style, I think they could look really good.
