The Lost Art of Innkeeping

Рекомендую ли я игру? ДА! Сто раз ДА! Я рекомендую эту игру. Столько времени прошло с момента как я играл в Отельный Гигант (Hotel Giant 1&2). Сколько меня там порой душнила расстановка мебели в комнатах, чтобы как можно больше въехало людей. Следить за балансом, создавать различные одинаковые развлечения от уровня к уровню. Здесь же. Простая цель. Заработай сумму к определённому времени. NG+ с новыми гостями. Простая и одновременно сложная система подготовки комнат ДО приезда гостей. Ещё и ачивка на то, чтобы держать цену за комнаты не выше низких. Т.е. Игра проходима без задирания цен. Игру прошёл часов за 4-5 и 200 рублей за неё более чем нормально. сейчас понимаю, что и за 300-350 я бы купил, зная её плюсы. Пойду и вторую часть возьму.

This game is the first installment in a mini-series of inn-keeping and management games set in a low-magic world with a technological level comparable to that of the early 20th century. To be honest, it’s a small-scale production. However, small-scale doesn’t mean simple, and it’s clear that the developer is doing an excellent job with the tools at their disposal. Would I recommend it? Yes. I had a lot of fun playing this game. Due to my own mistake (I played the series in reverse order), I accidentally spoiled the plot for myself. Despite that, I enjoyed learning about the origins and backstories of some of the NPCs who will appear in the sequel. Unfortunately, the flaws are more noticeable in this game - mainly because it was the first installment, serving as both a first attempt and a test of the concept. ✅ • Well prepared tutorial. Everything is presented in a clear and concise manner, some of the bigger games could learn a thing or two from this. • Cleverly implanted hint system. • 2 difficulty levels: classic and relaxing, so you can play without the stress of a deadline. • Enjoyable story. You’re renovating an inherited estate and, in the process, breathing new life into a nearby village. • It is clear at first glance that the creator put his heart and soul into it. The locations are appropriately detailed and have been carefully refined. The creator really used the potential of the ‘engine’ to create it. • Game features elements of art and literature taken from real life. • Achievements are engaging and easy to get. Unfortunately, you’ll need several playthroughs to collect all of them. • Well-optimized and bug-free. • Price/length ratio is well balanced. 😐 I don't like the background graphic in the main menu. In my opinion, it just doesn't fit with the game's aesthetic and concept. A semi-open world (its openness depends on our hotel’s level), but maps should be bigger. ❌ • Short. • Unfortunately, the management aspect is lacking. We build a hotel, but we can't decide how to use the rooms outside of the layout and concept imposed by the game dev. • Game is a bit too linear. Some tasks require you to perform specific actions, but you can't do them in advance or prepare for them in any way. The game doesn't let you take the initiative and forces you to adopt a passive approach. • Although the game offers an “relaxing” difficulty level, it's clear that it was designed with the “classic” mode in mind. All the interesting events and upgrades will be completed within the first 30 days.

I finished my first playthrough of the game a while back and it was extremely satisfying. The game focuses on running the inn and managing the guests, but there's a dash of mystery to it as well. I enjoyed the game's pacing and the number of tasks was quite manageable. While the repeated interactions and dialogues got a little stale over time, the medley of characters and the story's progression kept my interest. There seems to be some replay value and extra content, which is a plus. I played the game on the Steam deck and it went smoothly. Overall, I would certainly recommend the game.
