Summoner's Gambit

This games translation is not all that great, and the cutscene you get when you win isn't translated at all. That being said, it is a lot of fun. The gameplay loop is simple for how hard the game is. you have a deck and at the start of every game you start with 10 cards, with the option to mulligan up to 3 if you have more then 10. Every time you empty your deck you reshuffle and if you have more then 10 cards add a new one to it. Every card is worth points, and you have a point limit. Your goal every round is to get as many points as you can without going over your point limit. You can freely adjust all cards in play to put them in a decent formation but cannot put them back in the deck. if you go over your point limit you bust, taking heavy damage. If you have more points then the enemy then you get an effect depending on which character you are playing as, such as the "noble serpent" starting character who inflicts damage to all enemy minions to the total of the point difference. If you lose it is always the noble serpent effect no matter what character you are playing. If the point totals are tied then nothing happens and the minions just start fighting. There are ways to modify and build your run. Workshops allow you to combine your cards or remove cards from your deck, runes allow you to add modifiers to your run. Both are important in increasing your strength. Runes exist for a variety of purposes, you can build around small cards or big cards. Minions have synergies and you can do a lot with them. fusing them can combine their existing abilities, trigger them to mutate entirely new abilities and change their stats and costs. Fusing is perhaps the games single most important mechanic and you can create some crazy minions. There are also potions, single use consumables that can change the game exactly one time While all card games require luck, this one is something special on that front. Sometimes you have to risk busting to win a round, and if you bust their often isn't anything you can do about it unless you have certain potions. It can be frustrating if you are so close to winning only to surprise lose a round and end up dying. Sometimes if you die, you can resurrect, but there are two caveats. First of all you have to get lucky, the games eldritch girl mascot will draw a single card against you and compare its cost to the card you drew and you need to win the comparison, there is no skill to this at all. Once you have won a chance to continue, you need to make a sacrifice, which includes a downside you will have to carry for the rest of the run. Given you would have lost then and there otherwise this isn't a big deal, and the downsides aren't that bad. THings like "lose 2 max hp every battle" and "get a bad card you can easily get rid of at a workshop".

game is still too hard(after update), and generally not fun . manage your points properly win the points battle have your highest minions on the board. Only to have the enemy still deal 20 damage to you. dont even get me started on how stupid the paths you take world one 1 enemy making you about 100-200 gold then 4 things in a row where you can spend money. spend what money? you didn't let fight any thing. i never leave negative reviews. but do your self a favor and skip this one

The game is okay. The tutorial is a bit confusing, but you can figure out what is happening by watching a couple rounds of battle. The game plays a bit like poker, you have a deck and you decide if you are gonna risk drawing another card or not. The art is fine. Many of the special effects are a little too quick and flamboyant, makes the game a bit overwhelming to watch.
