Spirit Swap: Lofi Beats to Match-3 To

This is such a joyful exploration of love, relationships (of many kinds), and the importance of communication all set to an amazing OST with match-3 gameplay of varying difficulty. It doesn't outstay its welcome and is one of those rare games: perfect because it does exactly what it sets out to do. The ONLY thing it's missing is a gallery mode because the pictures at the end of each route are just beautiful and I would love to be able to view them when depression is beating me.

I really liked this game. It has cute, diverse characters and a fun main gameplay loop. I like how they were able to merge two very different genres. I think they fused them well. For a relatively short lil dating sim, I don't have too many complaints. Really, for me, it's just down to the characters. I liked them all, but I do think their romances and just their routes in general all felt a bit repetitive. They were all centered around self-care and taking a step back from work, which is a great message but this was for basically every character. This, and sometimes the characters fell flat, or their main motivations never really came to a conclusion. I could be wrong, but the end-game scene, no matter who you go with, seems to be the same for each character, and I feel this is where wrapping up each character could have gone well. Totally feel free to correct me on this, I have only done the end-game scene with two characters since, like I said, it seemed to have repeated. Still, though, I can't deny I had fun. This game is full of jokes and it is really cute and charming. I thought that their designs were awesome and super diverse and I pretty much liked everyone thoroughly, except for one character who I just simply didn't vibe with (they just weren't my type, really). For what it is, this game is a real fun time and I enjoyed the time I had with its story. I was a big fan of the gameplay loop and will definitely find myself playing the endless mode sometime while I vibe to some music.

Genuinely just an adorable game. Conjures up a beautiful ideal world where you can visit your friends all day, flirt with them all, and fix every problem. The gorgeous art style lends itself so perfectly to the stunning character designs. The main mechanic stays fun while not being too challenging, and I think lofi is the perfect music genre for that. Honestly, I'd forget it was a match-3 game between the story elements. The characters are lovable and weird and unique while also having very real problems. Clearly, this game was a huge labor of love and a giant love letter to the black and queer communities <3
