Sable's Grimoire 2

Route: 4 Hours Choices: Yes Failure Possible: No Character Rating: Very Good Story Progression: Very Good Music Rating: contains a few of the first story tracks, the new tracks are good Achievement Difficulty: 1 Additional Thoughts: A good follow-up to the first Sable's Grimoire, it does well to match the story telling of the original novel and expands on the world building the first novel started. Choices tend to be more dialogue based but the ones that direct the story into the routes are pretty clear. The dialogue based choices will still influence other certain minor dialogue the characters will say to Sable as a result of a choice. But if you did end up liking Sable's Grimoire (and the expansions to that story) then you might also enjoy this one as well. I am still interested in future expansions to this story and reading more of these.

I have been running a (heavy homebrew) D&D campaign inspired by the first game in this Series (Combined with some Not even Bones and Arknights), for several years now, so I think it is safe to say I really enjoyed the first game in Series (and both spin offs). This game is more of the same, which is to say, I also love this second Installment. Though I did get a bit confused in the beginning when I was mixing up actual sables grimoire lore and characters and lore from campaign xD It has a very comfy comdic slice of life vibe, with heavy content thrown in or hinted at every now and then. It reminds me a bit of playing video games as a child, when you would imagine the game to be lot bigger than it actually was, because Sables Grimoire has a world that really invites you (or at least me) to let your imagination extend it beyond the borders of the game. I do wish the game had voice-over, but I realize that paying voice actors for a VN is not feasible for small indie studios.

Nice continuation of the first story, feels a lot shorter. I'm conflicted on the absence of bad endings like in the first game. I generaly enjoyed the writing.
