My Mad Scientist Roommate Turned Me Into Her Personal Robotic Battle Maiden?!?

Alright I thought I did a review but apparently that was a lie I told myself with false memories of a potentially altered time line. Anyways Time to do this. HECK! This might just be my favorite game in the series and I have so much to say so this is your warning I will be saying things that may be spoilers. That is the warning. Game Play: Unlike MMB or HITIAM this game is a proper turn based RPG so I will have to talk about that. (Stocking up on healing items is important as by staying true to the cast and who they are... none of them have healing abilities really... something I complained about but makes perfect sense as time goes on.) Make multiple saves and don't be afraid to jump back if you botch something or need more time.) Characters: Like the other two games in this series I've played Lach did a fantastic job making each character compelling and enjoyable to interact with. Like with MBB1 Characters I thought I would hate actually grew on me and I really liked spending time with them. Unlike other games there isn't really a dating mechanic here think of it more a friendship system. AXON IN ASHES (Our heroes) I think we might be the bad guys Sam S.E.R.A.: Is the character we play as and like in most of these games we have something happen that causes our MC to become a girl. (A apparent hazard of being in Axon City/this world) S.E.R.A. Is a delight to follow on this journey and I may have umm vibed to hard with them and the line between us at times was kind of gone. The interactions she had and the reactions she made mirrored my own or I mirrored hers? It's complicated. Her design is fire and I would steal her clothing. As a fighter Sera is fairly tanky if built right and can do a decent amount of damage. The Move list they get works well and they feel well rounded. Ellie: Our.. Sam Sera's roommate and the mad scientist of the hour. If you played the previous game MBB1 you kind of have an idea of where she is on the good guy/bad guy scale. As our Mistress that we can't disobey her whim and over all goals are our own. Even if we look for every loop hole in those orders we can. She is your typical mad scientist and her main outfit reflects this. She could use more pink in her design. I won't spoiler too much here so I'll jump into her combat stuff. Ellie is busted, she has the most powerful attacks late game and is fun to kit out properly. She is a glass canon tho so make sure to keep healing items on hand. Jasmine: Honestly I didn't like her much at the start but I really enjoyed her in the end. She is to put it a bluntly the sword weeb. She is painfully anime and fits in well with the cast. She is a bit more forward in how much of a perv she is and she makes up for it with having actual character growth. She has the most edgelord design of our party and I would also steal her drip... wait does that mean I'm an edgelord? She is the DBS she is not tanky or very efficient energy wise. But she can hit hard and can be built up to make a stronger contender. Kathy: Unlike Jasmine I loathed her at the start, but she goes through alot of... not sure I can call it growth but she did grow on me. She makes mistakes, is selfish at times, and doesn't have a great track record at good ideas. But she was in your corner in her own way and I really liked seeing her moments. I do want to whap her once or twice. But she is a joy in her own way. Her design is the more simple of her teammates and honestly it fits her to a tee. I couldn't visualize her not looking like low level criminal. She uses guns and I didn't figure out how to properly use her, I kind of made her use items to replenish health and energy... sorry Kathy. Aisha: Our tactical friend who... has our back? Maybe? Aisha is a AI who is always making quips about the Robot Uprising. Which I'm sure is a joke. My Mad Scientist Roommate Turned Me Into Her Personal Robotic Battle Maiden?!? is a game where much of the draw is its personality, story, and characters. If you liked the gaggle of weirdos and truckloads of nonsense found in prior games, RBM offers a whole lot more of that. As a simulation RPG, it’s actually pretty easy to get into, and does not require any extra fiddling or a guide to play. Which, as someone sheepish of the genre, I consider a plus. This prequel to Alluna and Brie was really good and I loved seeing where S.E.R.A came from. She has to be my fave character in the whole series of games. Loved all the characters story scenes.
