Kingdoms of the Dump

This is a fantastic snes-style turned based RPG. Its setting is unique too, centered around garbage and anything else related to that. It's well written and the characters are fun. Pixel graphics are wonderful and the soundtrack hits the right notes. The only real bad thing about the game currently is that it has random hiccups and freezes/stutters. A suggestive crit furthermore would be that the game may feel a bit easy at times. Tho, there are some difficulty spikes. They are pretty inconsistent and unpredictable. Besides that, this is probably gonna be one of sleeper hits that don't get talked much. I recommend a go at it if you love turn based RPGs.

Kingdoms of the Dump is a project I happily invested into and I'm proud to say the results have gone beyond my expectations. I've never considered myself a proficient RPG player, but I love this concept of a simple dump setting being expanded into a fantasy world with charming characters and heaps of trash puns, it was just too good to pass up. Initially I was hesitant that I'd be able to comprehend the game mechanics, as this game is probably my first proper RPG adventure outside of any Mario adjacent game. Though my fears were unfounded as the gameplay I found was smooth and direct, and I soon laid waste to any aggressive foe. So if your a fan of big adventures with a bit of strategic combat, then join Dustin and his party of misfits and explore the Kingdoms of the Dump for yourself.

A whimsical journey, harkening back to the RPG greats of old. Chrono Trigger, FFVI/VII, etc...this game screams 90s adventures in all the best ways. The way the world slowly opens up, revealing more and more of its massive scale is amazing. It isn't without its flaws. The jump anywhere on anything mechanic is janky, and there are some bugs (Aside from Bugaria). However, it is a massive game, and so much love went into it. I can forgive the small things, especially when it appears to add to the charm instead of taking away from it. As others have said, it probably could have used more time in the oven, more quality control to make sure some of those things were taken care of. Overall, I am so very much enjoying the experience, and the developer's continued support of the game is a wonderful thing. If you like 90s RPGs, you will no doubt enjoy a (long) stroll through The Lands of Fill!
