Island Off Outer Darkness

I read a few reviews and decided to pull the trigger and buy the game. I expected some quirkiness, but I was not ready. - The game only has 3 resolution options (all small), and playing on a 1440p monitor leaves you with a huge empty space around the actual game window. I dread to think how it looks on a 4K monitor. - I play a lot of super niche games. Some are quirky because the devs don't know better. This one is quirky because the dev decided so. Making Space interact and E jump by default, among other things, tells a lot. - Fourth-wall breaks, absurd dialogue, and Marvel Wolverine yellow paint that tells you where to go right off the bat in the supposed "amazing writing and atmosphere" game — huge red flag. Refunded.

Wonderful, deep, and ponderous narrative experience. Plus, there're farming and fishing minigames - thereby proving it is a videogame.

A great set of characters - unwelcoming at first, but gradually opening up (sometimes). Some incredible highlights in just what's going on in this miserable island, which are best seen for oneself, but the first Unique climbing of the lighthouse was just great!
