東方资志疏 ~ Immortal Immanuel. (东方资志疏)

Note: Has a native English translation in the Beta branch, despite English not being listed on the Store page at the time of review. Another fantastic Chinese Touhou fan shmup made in LuaSTG. Definitely easier than the main games, but with massive better production values and really creative patterns. Having actual high-resolution bullet and hitbox sprites makes dodging so much better than the main games and most Danmakufu based fangames. My only real issues are being capped to 60 fps (still sadly the standard for shmups in general) and the game using Steam DRM, same as with basically all Chinese LuaSTG-based Touhou fangames. Danmakufu based fangames are usually DRM-free, even on Steam.

Once again chinese fangames establish themselves as being a cut above the rest, at least in terms of presentation. This one might not be on the same level of Fantastic Danmaku Festival, but it still has no shortage of creative and visually striking patterns, as well as good music. Now if only I could read Chinese...

This game clumsily tried to access my microphone randomly at a time it was not on. Unless you are planning to run the game in a virtualized environment, avoid at all cost.
