I Just Want to be Single!! Season One

abandonware, game has been out for well over a year and has nothing past what the demo offered. i was really looking forward to this game as i conceptually enjoy it but the dev seems to spend more time complaining in their discord than working on the game! i dont want this to be another yansim situation but its sadly not looking too hot

I have mixed feelings about this game. It's fun, but, as someone who got this purely due to it being hailed among aspec communities because we're desperate for representation, I feel this really falls short at being representation for aroace communities, for the pure reason that this is set in an all girl's school. If it wasn't described as aroace, it could very easily be misconstrued as "hah I'm the only person who doesn't fancy girls in a school full of lesbians!!!" It would be very easy to misinterpret this as being about a straight person in a wacky gay environment based on the actual contents of the game. Granted, looking back this is rather obvious based on the trailer, so I might have just been an idiot for going along with the hype on social media, but I still feel a bit aspecbaited. Additionally, there is a character who is VERY uncomfortable and rapey, I haven't played the dating sim genre so maybe it's a standard or a really good satire of it, but for me it just makes me really hope we get to kill her. I haven't played this game for a while, so I'll be forgetting details. I haven't been keeping up with development at all, if it progresses then I'll still give this a chance and play

I've had this game for a long time and I just have to say. I understand that the creator may have personal issues but, please at least say you're not going to finish the game anytime soon. I'll change this review when they release the next chapter.
