The original narrative follows a protagonist whose life is thrown into chaos after the death of his best friend, eventually becoming caught within a mysterious three-day time loop. Historical inspiration, occult phenomena, psychological themes, romance, and fictional elements overlap throughout that story, leaving plenty of background information for this companion to examine. Instead of presenting another full-length route, this release operates almost like an interactive encyclopedia and digital fan book. It brings together preliminary setting materials and content associated with the supplementary book Tenkyu. Character profiles provide additional context for the cast, while explanations of the various routes help clarify events and ideas that may have been deliberately ambiguous during the original adventure. There is also a Q&A component and a considerable amount of artwork, making the package particularly worthwhile for players interested in the creative process behind the setting and characters. The visual material is arguably one of its greatest attractions. New main illustrations from original creator Rinko Kurosawa accompany a broader collection of digital artwork, maintaining the distinctive artistic personality associated with Hashihime. The mixture of vivid colors, elaborate character designs, period influences, and surreal imagery continues to give this universe an identity that feels very different from a typical romance or mystery visual novel. Being able to browse these materials digitally also makes the collection more convenient than a purely physical reference book. There are small interactive touches that prevent the experience from feeling like nothing more than static pages. The Map feature can produce conversational scenes based on the actual date and time, giving returning players another reason to explore the application. Additional short conversations also provide fresh character interactions. These elements are relatively modest compared with the content of a traditional game, but they complement the archival nature of the package nicely and give dedicated fans some genuinely new material to discover. One important consideration is the complete lack of suitability for newcomers. The collection openly assumes that the reader has finished the main game and its bonus scenarios. It discusses route-specific events, hidden settings, character details, and other information capable of spoiling major discoveries. This is therefore something to experience after completing the original visual novel rather than alongside it. Players expecting a sequel or another lengthy narrative campaign may also be disappointed because the focus is firmly on supplementary material rather than an entirely new adventure. Language accessibility is handled well. Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese are supported, although there is no character voice acting. Note: This does NOT contain the post-route bonus stories like the Switch version (simply titled 'append') does. 'Append fullscreen' only contains bonuses like non-game artwork, character profiles, route information, Q&A, and some small real-time based dialogue events. While I don't personally regret my purchase, I don't think you should get this unless it's at least 50% off, so I'm marking it as a 'don't reccomend'. As other reviews have stated, this is pretty clearly MTL'd, with errors everywhere. It does, however, contain the original JP, so if you can read JP it's not as bad a purchase. At worst, even without that, someone with a passing knowledge of both JP vocabulary and the plot of the game should be able to figure out some of the more glaring errors (like that the mysterious 'wife' referred to in Minakami's bio is meant to be *Madam*/the landlady, lol.) But regardless, dramatic create should be pretty embarrassed about this release. I don't know if the translation team ran out of time or resources, but it's a real shame that it happened. There's lots of helpful resources included in this, from bios to full summaries of routes and tons and tons of Q&A with the original writer(s), and they deserved to have more care taken in translating their work and their thoughts into English.

Negative review for the obvious machine translation. I love the world and characters of hashihime, so I was very sad to see that the English translation was botched like this :( It's not so bad to the point of being illegible, but there's a pretty egregious part in Minakami's page where Madam is referred to as his wife which??? Makes me doubt the accuracy of the rest of the translation. Also disliked that character names were written incorrectly, the variety of small grammar mistakes, and confusing writing that is obviously the result of MTL. I'm interested in ADELTA games and wanted to support this release, so I'm really disappointed in the translation quality. If you're a big fan of hashihime, it's not that this is totally not worth reading, in fact I loved reading the q&a and character explanations, but the poor translation is something to be wary of... It does seem in part human-edited, but the MTL really messes up occasionally.
