GUN GODZ

Pretty cool boomer shooter with a focus on a zany soundtrack. The rat enemies are a pretty funny bit, and the extra challenge/joke levels are honestly fun. Asking a lot from a free game but it does make me want a level editor to see what other players could put together

For one of they original free to play "Boomer Shooters" and or "retro Fps" this game does a lot of things at a excellent level. For starters the shotgun and pistol both feature great audio design(very beefy)/great feedback, movement while in the vein of Wolfenstein 3D is surprisingly fast and fluid. The soundtrack which i don't even know how to describe is like Electronic Gangster rap which you wouldn't think would match the vibes to the game but honestly steal the show, stellar soundtrack. My only gripes is the minigun and the screen shake that comes with it, its jarring to say the least but this goes hand and hand with the difficulty swing once you face the first boss. While a very creative Cthulhu type boss fight that requires you to shoot the tentacles before you shoot the main boss gives you limited ammo and health and with that the minigun becomes important but with all the things you have to invade with the screen shake much less push you back feedback of the minigun makes this boss fight at least for me impossible. If you like games like Brotherhood or even Project Warlock and don't want to fork 7-20 dollars well you can't go wrong with Gun Godz which is free. A flashy fast raycaster boomer shooter. This was one I remembered playing years ago and just found & remembered it was on Steam. Super quick to play through, level design is mostly fun. Art & theme are great. The first Venus Rap track is so good. As you progress I think the game gets weaker in the bosses & later areas. But for a free & super quick play its worth the time.
