I am currently using an xbox 360 kinect with this software, it is very capable of tracking you, even while seated in a chair, it is best to mount a 360 kinect in my expirence about 5-6 feet from floor level, it is also important to have pretty good lighting, it doesnt have that much delay, it is probably the best, cheapest option for FBT at the moment

This works, and it works INCREDIBLY WELL. I am genuinely impressed and it really transformed my VR experience as I yearned for FBT but proper body trackers can get very expensive where I live. I can't say for other devices, but my experience with a Xbox 360 Kinect has been amazing. I experience no leg jitters and I can even do a 360 turn which is absurd. I sit on the ground and it manages to track/predict my positions flawlessly. It also helps playing, in my case, on the Kinect strenghts. With the right height and angle, it does miracles. This is a $20 setup. There's a sensor fusion feature that makes it possible to use two kinects in tandem which I wanna try and can help even more. You can also lock a pose, so if you sit on a pose that's awkward for the Kinect to track, you can stay still on a pose that actually looks natural for you. As a new user in September, I can say it's an amazing piece of software and it will keep improving as it uses ML models and the dev is incredibly supportive and is actively taking feedback from users. I definitely recommend it. My immersion has improved a LOT.

It just fundamentally doesn't work, even after many patches and me purchasing a brighter light for my playspace, tracking is still jittery and innacurate, the calibration methods have all been horribly explained with terrible error messages for troubleshooting. I have spent 3 hours total trying to get this thing to work with only one case of success and for some reason when in game it did not even track and move the limbs that trackers were set up for. I get having to do a little work for a free product like Amythest but are we serious with having to do so much on a PAID PRODUCT here? Either the marketing is absurdly deceptive or there's some secret magic sauce I don't understand, but either way it has never worked for me when Amythest works fine in my playspace even if the tracking quality is worst that what is promised here. Do not buy this until it is proven that this thing will work cause I have had practically zero luck with it.
