Well, it's a good game. Good design, good sense of humor. But I don't like it because there is no "help" option in it. There is no "help" section that describes all the tools that the player encounters during the game. It was very difficult to return to the game after a few days, checking the contraband, some badges, some need to be attached somewhere, others taken away... I don't have that much patience to go through everything all over again or remember through red notification errors. So drop and dislike.
Border Bots VR turns the normally mundane task of checking identification and paperwork into an entertaining virtual reality workplace simulation. Developed by Paw Print Games Ltd. and vTime Ltd and published by Team17, the game places you in a futuristic society where artificial intelligence has become dominant and humans occupy a much less important position. Against the odds, you land a job as a border officer responsible for deciding which robots are permitted to enter the city. It is an amusing reversal of the traditional border-control premise, combining observational puzzles, physical VR interactions, workplace satire, and a colorful science-fiction setting. Most of the experience takes place inside your inspection booth, where a steady stream of robotic travelers arrives for processing. Each applicant brings information that must be compared against the current regulations. You need to examine identification, verify details, inspect the robot itself, and search for anything that violates the rules. A seemingly harmless visitor can contain suspicious components, incorrect information, or prohibited items. The challenge becomes increasingly demanding as additional regulations and possibilities are introduced, forcing you to pay close attention rather than mechanically approving everyone who appears. What makes the concept work particularly well is the physical nature of VR. Instead of navigating ordinary menus and clicking through paperwork, you interact directly with your surroundings. Documents can be picked up and examined, while various pieces of equipment are positioned around the workstation for quick access. Gadgets such as scanners, detection equipment, a 3D printer, and more aggressive tools give the booth the feeling of a strange futuristic workplace. Once you become familiar with where everything is located, processing robots develops an enjoyable rhythm of checking, scanning, comparing, deciding, and immediately preparing for the next visitor. Performance matters because the game encourages both accuracy and efficiency. Successfully completing your responsibilities provides credits that can be used to improve the checkpoint and acquire useful upgrades. This progression system gives the repetitive job structure a stronger sense of purpose. Becoming faster is not simply about mastering controls, since you also need to recognize suspicious details more efficiently as the rules become more complicated. Mistakes can interrupt an otherwise productive shift, creating tension when you are trying to balance careful inspection with the desire to process more applicants. Outside the booth, the game provides some lighter personalization through your apartment. Money earned through work can be spent on decorative items, allowing you to customize your living space. It is not an enormous secondary simulation, but it gives the player something personal to work toward beyond professional upgrades. Returning home also helps establish that the protagonist exists within this unusual robot-dominated society rather than simply occupying an isolated puzzle room. The robot characters contribute significantly to the game's personality. Their exaggerated appearances and strange behavior prevent the inspection process from feeling completely mechanical, despite the applicants literally being machines. Humor is woven throughout the encounters, and the colorful presentation keeps the setting playful even when the underlying premise touches on surveillance, automation, bureaucracy, and the consequences of artificial intelligence controlling society. There is also a larger mystery involving robots behaving outside their expected programming, giving the player additional motivation to continue working through successive shifts. Repetition remains the biggest potential drawback. The fundamental activity always revolves around inspecting applicants and determining whether they meet the required conditions. New rules, gadgets, upgrade…
Got the good ending at first, and I'm so happy. This game is great! So cute to play, and relaxing, living a day in the life of a border patrol person for BOTS! haha Lovely, cute idea, cute execution, a great game to play. Going to do a second run now for more achievement, because it's just that fun to play!
