Pretty fun, but super grindy. So if that isn't your thing... not gonna have a good time. It gives you plenty of budget, so money is hardly an issue. 3 currencies is a bit much than needed... but it's as good as a free to play gacha-inspired game can be.
Very fun turn-based RPG game. The cutscenes give you that early 2000s Toonami/Adult Swim vibe. I could definitely see this being its own show right along Samurai Jack and Teen Titans. The art style and animations are so unique, which is what initially drew me to this game. The music could definitely use some work, but the gameplay itself is nice and challenging. I must've gone through 5 different styles of combat before deciding on my final party to play through the game with. Looking forward to seeing more from Miltonius Arts.
Very, very rough soul with lots of potential. Pros: + amazing art style + sexy girls + charming writing + TONS of characters, most with unique skills + lots of possibilities for build crafting Cons: - laughably easy for 90% of it, only gets challenging right before the very end, this game desperately needed a hard mode - very few music tracks, that get grating REALLY fast; I understand that they took all the sounds and music from stock libraries, but I’ve played RPGmaker games with much better sounding soundtracks, that also had a larger track variety, and those all used stock sounds and music as well - awful SFX, same as above - poor voice acting with many voices sounding muffled, and some changing pitch mid cutscene - terrible menus that are a pain to navigate once you acquire a larger amount of heroes/skills, finding specific heroes and skills becomes a chore later on in the game - 4 character slots are not enough for how big the roster is, an option to rotate characters in and out, in the style of Dragon Quest or similar RPGs, would've been great - no option to save skill loadouts for characters - 200 maximum skill storage is too low - some bugs, I had to quit two fights because they wouldn’t end and had to restart my game once because fusing items wasn’t working - the game just kind of ends, you just get booted back to the map menu after the final boss, with no new missions or anything of the sorts unlocked, and the credits roll you have to activate manually (which I thought was really funny, intentional or not) I really, really hope that there will be an Akumi Wars 2. I feel like, if they made another game and applied everything they’ve learned with this one, or just worked on this some more, they could make something amazing.
