Yotsume God -Reunion-

Tentative Recommend, since this seems to be an issue with the PC version specifically and has nothing to do with the story: The loading screens and every single fade to black/transition to a different scene/progression after clearing a puzzle takes minutes. No hyperbole. MINUTES. You are stuck on a black screen or seemingly frozen screen thinking the game has died but it just takes forever to kick back into gear, which makes general progression a pain and going through the full game to collect all endings (as is expected of you) a massive slog which lowered my initial positive opinion MASSIVELY. I'm seemingly not alone in this, and frankly don't want to bother finding out if changing your locale helps in any way, as I've managed to get through it now, it just took.. forever. The game itself is gorgeous, pretty artwork and a stunning soundtrack. Everything is voiced, the sprites move and while some of the story was predictable it was still a lovely experience that held surprises. I have not had the pleasure of playing the original mobile release and as far as I'm aware that one is no longer available anyway, so this is all I can base my rating on. If they manage to fix the weird loading issues I will wholeheartedly recommend it for a good 5~6 hour run. As it stands right now, unless you have something on the side ready to keep you company for loading screen loneliness... maybe wait it out.

first played Yotsume God on mobile when I was younger, so being able to experience it again feels incredibly nostalgic. Revisiting the game brought back so many great memories, and it reminded me why I loved it in the first place. The storyline is captivating, the art style is beautiful and unique, and the gameplay is engaging from start to finish. Everything comes together to create a memorable experience. I'm so happy I had the chance to play it again, and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Always been a fan of SEEC games, started with Prison Boys back in 2017 when their games were still on Google Store, then got into Tasokare Hotel but was too late to get Yotsume God. I am SO happy this is on Steam now(though, I wish the Switch version would be available in the West too!!) and I hope that we'll get more games being ported over to other consoles.
