Yi Xian: The Cultivation Card Game is an online DBG which contains a PVE mode called Uncharted Realms and a PVP mode. Every game is a deck building from scratch. Players can have stronger decks by changing cards, and then build more powerful routines to defeat all opponents to win.
Yi Xian: The Cultivation Card Game Разработчик: Darksun Studio.
10/10. Masterpiece PROS: 1)Perfect onboarding: The tutorial and newcomer experience are spot on. The single-player roguelike mode lets you learn the game at your own pace without timers, so you can master the mechanics before you start suffering from the rank mode time limits. 2)Concept & Execution: The entire game basically rests on this. You've got a massive card pool, plenty of players, PvP battles, and a ton of strategies and options. Since you don't get every card every time, you’re forced to adapt on the fly. 3)Season System: Done well. It keeps the game fresh and prevents burnout by introducing new mechanics and builds every season. 4)Character Variety and Sects: Character variety is actually kind of weak; they mostly do the same thing. Some are better, some are worse, but the perks are minor and easily skippable for basic ones. Graphically it’s also a bit sad — in the Heptastar Pavilion, there are two girls who look so identical you can't tell them apart without a magnifying glass. However, this stays in the "Pros" because of the SECTS. The sects are vastly different and bring incredible variety. 4.1)Bonus: Side jobs are cool. Even though balance isn't perfect (Elixirst is OP while everyone else is situational for some build), the additional card sets they provide are a great mechanic. 5)Balance and Strategy. Hands down the best balance in card games. Any—literally any-any game can be won if you just arrange your cards differently... don't discard certain cards, anticipate the opponent's move, or something else. You can sit down, properly think over your deck and the match against your opponent, and win battles with much weaker cards simply because you outplayed him. 6)And it's not a 50/50 roulette, like in the case of the Musician subclass and its "cannot chase" card; there are real mental battles going on there—what your opponent will play, how he will outplay your deck, and how you can outplay his outplaying, while doing it in a way that doesn't break your combos if the opponent suddenly plays differently or the same as the last game. 7)Builds: Solid variety. Almost everything is viable. There are some weak builds that won't get you far and some top-tier ones, but overall it’s on par with popular CCGs/autobattlers. The builds are fun and there are plenty of them. CONS: 1)Bots & Online: At night, the player base drops. At 3-4k rating, there are too many bots, which isn't always fun. Even with just 1-2 real players in a lobby, it can turn into an interesting standoff, but it's hit or miss. I usually avoid playing at night to always hit. 2)Timers: The turn timers are ridiculously short. Newbies will get absolutely wrecked in ranked. Even after 700 hours, I still struggle to finish in time sometimes. I’ve adapted lately, but the fact that a veteran like me still feels the pressure is not okay. Adding just 10 seconds to each turn would make the experience so much better. 3)Point System: LP gains in bot matches are broken. Example. High-rank lobby, 8 characters, 3 of them are bots, bots dying first, I take last place (i.e. fifth, right after the bots) losing miserably to everyone else. It would seem they should take away billions of points, but they gave me only -7. Minus 7. 4th place will get roughly +30, third +50, second +70, first +90, that is, the overall plus of a high-rank lobby is incredible. This is complete nonsense that turns high-rank competition into a mindless grind. It becomes about who plays more, not who plays better. Need to decrease point additions in lobbies with bots. 4)Servers. Yes, there are problems with them. Not super serious, they haven't ruined a single game for me in all these tons of hours. However, twice (twice in 700 hours) I didn't have time to change/place cards because of them. That happened. Not a super serious, but existed. So, This is a must-play for anyone who likes to actually use their brain while gaming. As for the rest — stick to Genshin, lol.
