TRANSFORMERS: EARTHSPARK - Expedition

I want to preface this review with 2 things: This game is clearly made for children and for fans of the Transformers series. I am neither, I havent even watched any of the movies in full. The Positive: Since this game is meant for children, I want to applaud the games attempt to promote good values and reassurances. Not for me, but still, I reckon thats a good thing in a game for children. The Neutral: The combat is very child-friendly, as you can easily get through by just mashing your left and right mouse button, combined with a few presses of the E and Shift button. The Negative: The opening gave me strong Maid-and-Butler dialogue vibes. Some of the driving animations are awfully bad, especially at low speeds when going over ramps. The driving is awfully slow for some reason, unless you get Nitro. You are often quicker by just mashing the dodge button (Shift on the keyboard) The graphics are like from a game from 2010. Existant, but lack a lot of detail and the lighting is also meh. When coming up with a grapple and then dodging forwards, it loves to dodge backwards, even tho you clearly pressed forwards. Tutorial informations that keep showing up, blocking your movement, even though you just showed that you know the content of the tutorial. Misery. Im on a quest of at least trying every game in my library, of which I got plenty from all kinds of bundles. If you are interested in my journey, check out my other reviews :)

If your expecting something as amazing as the cybertron games or devastation you will be very dissapointed. The only character you play as is bumblebee, none of the other characters from earthspark are playable. The game has 3 maps that feel very empty despite having collectables and enemies scattered in them. The maps have "side quests" that are just minigames for the materials needed to upgrade. The combat is ok while annoying at times and the enemies very often get stuck or frozen. the animations are nice for transformations. the audio is good. the voice acting is fine the gameplay is a bit boring. If your getting the game for a child they will probably like the game.

This game is basically Sonic Boom with a transformers skin. But i got it for $3.00 so i cant be too mad about it, but i would not recommended it at full price.
