This has quickly become my favourite golf game of all time, dethroning Links 2003 in terms of sheer fun factor. There are issues that hardcore golfers won't like, the biggest being that trees don't obstruct the ball in any way, but as a casual enjoyer of the sport I'm having the best time I've had playing a golf videogame in years. I haven't delved too deeply into the modes outside of solo free play, but if you're looking for quick, simple, arcade golf goodness, Super Video Golf can't be beat.
This game is great, however the putting system is a wildly inconsistent mess and not even in a git gud sense, the power generated in the swings when hit exactly the same from similar distances varies extremely from green to green making it basically impossible to figure out consistently, and it's not down to slope or direction it's just that the scale varies so much, so make sure your approach play gets the ball as close to the cup as possible otherwise you're likely screwed. Fix the awful putting and this game is a 10/10
