Человек, который подарил мне это, единственный мужчина, которого я не презираю. Обожаю этот тип мужчин...как их там...долбоящер, который дарит всякий шлак
Not Recommended I genuinely don't understand how this game has such positive reviews. The concept sounded fun enough — running a shop selling waifu pillows is exactly the kind of stupid little simulator idea that I could see myself wasting hours on. Unfortunately, the actual gameplay gets boring incredibly quickly. The Controls The mouse controls are atrocious. Looking around and interacting with things feels awkward and clunky when basic camera controls should be one of the easiest things for a first-person shop simulator to get right. The NPCs The NPCs are janky as hell. Their movement and behaviour make the whole shop feel unfinished rather than alive, and watching customers stumble their way around doesn't exactly help the immersion. The UI Then there's the UI, which is just ugly. It feels rough, awkward and lacking the polish you'd expect from something you're going to spend a significant amount of time looking at in a management game. The Gameplay But the biggest issue is the actual gameplay loop. It's just boring. Buy stock. Put stock out. Sell stock. Repeat. There wasn't enough happening to make me feel like I was actually managing or building something interesting, and the novelty of "haha, I'm selling waifu pillows" wears off pretty quickly. I don't expect an indie simulator to have AAA production values. Jank can even be part of the charm when the underlying game is fun. But here, the janky NPCs, terrible mouse controls, ugly UI and repetitive gameplay all pile on top of each other. There's probably an audience for this if you really like the concept or just want a silly waifu shop simulator, but as an actual shop management game, I couldn't get into it. The waifus might be soft. The gameplay isn't.
Shop Simulator: Waifu Pillows takes an unconventional idea and builds an enjoyable management experience around it. Developed by Three River Games (3RG) and co-developed with Cherry Kiss Games, with Three River Games also serving as publisher, the game invites players to establish and grow a specialty store dedicated entirely to dakimakura and anime-themed merchandise. While the premise may initially come across as a novelty, the title quickly proves that it has more substance than its eccentric concept suggests. By blending lighthearted humor with familiar retail simulation mechanics, it manages to carve out a distinctive place among the growing catalog of business management games on Steam. Players begin with a modest shop and limited inventory, gradually learning the essentials of running a successful business. Ordering stock, organizing shelves, setting prices, and responding to customer demand form the backbone of the experience. The gameplay loop is straightforward but effective, encouraging players to continually optimize their store while expanding their product offerings. Each successful day generates enough revenue to unlock new opportunities, creating a satisfying sense of progression that makes it difficult to stop after just one session. The game wisely focuses on accessibility, ensuring that newcomers to the simulation genre can quickly understand its systems while still leaving room for experimentation. The variety of available content helps maintain player interest over time. With dozens of unique pillow designs to collect and sell, multiple shelving options, decorative items, and extensive store upgrades, there is always another milestone to work toward. Expanding the storefront dramatically changes both its appearance and functionality, allowing players to transform a tiny retail space into a bustling destination for anime enthusiasts. The employee management system adds another layer of strategy, enabling players to delegate responsibilities and streamline daily operations as their business grows. These features may not reinvent the genre, but they are implemented well enough to keep the gameplay consistently engaging. Visually, Shop Simulator: Waifu Pillows embraces a colorful and playful presentation that complements its theme. The anime-inspired product designs and charming shop environments give the game a recognizable identity, while its cast of mascot characters adds personality without distracting from the management aspects. The tone remains intentionally humorous throughout, never taking itself too seriously. This approach works in the game's favor, as it allows the experience to feel welcoming rather than overly niche. Although some of its artistic assets and music make use of AI-generated elements, the developers have been transparent about their inclusion, allowing players to form their own opinions regarding their use. One of the more notable additions is its cooperative multiplayer support. Managing the store with up to three friends introduces a new level of entertainment, as players divide tasks between restocking shelves, processing customer orders, and redesigning the shop layout. The resulting chaos often leads to memorable moments that elevate the experience beyond what a solo playthrough can provide. Steam Workshop integration is another valuable feature, opening the door for community-created pillow designs and extending the game's longevity considerably. This support for user-generated content ensures that the title has the potential to remain fresh long after players have exhausted its base offerings. Despite its strengths, the game does have limitations. Veterans of retail simulators will immediately recognize many of its mechanics, and those expecting groundbreaking innovations may find the experience somewhat familiar. The niche subject matter may also discourage players who have little interest in anime culture. However, neither of these factors significantly detracts from…
