I normally don't like classic level based Castlevania (besides Super Castlevania) but this game has so many little bits of charm, and fun level/game design that I was compelled to finish it. As a matter of fact after I beat it I started to play Castlevania 1. It gave me a new appreciation for the nes games. So if you want a great Castlevania game to introduce you to the genre, then look no further.

This game is cool. It knows what it wants to do, and it does it, not more, not less. A letter to the Castlevania games, from a team that had fun making this, as you can see the funny details in every corner. Great music, vibrant pixel art, and a rewarding progression both by you getting better at learning the game, and the upgrades that the game gives to your character. I would totally recommend it if you like these kind of games. Score: 8/10.
