Pimbolas is a playful interpretation of foosball that abandons the idea of being a serious sports simulation and instead builds its identity around physics, unpredictable modifiers, and multiplayer chaos. Developed by Nano Knight Studio and published by Nuntius Games and Vsoo Games, it takes an instantly recognizable tabletop game and turns it into something much more exaggerated. The basic objective remains simple enough for almost anyone to understand: control your side, hit the ball, defend your goal, and score against the opposition. What changes dramatically is everything that can happen between those straightforward objectives. Controlling the players is designed around analog sticks and triggers, giving matches an accessible foundation without removing the need for good timing. Learning how to position characters, intercept incoming shots, create openings, and react quickly can make a noticeable difference. The physics introduce an additional challenge because the ball does not always behave exactly as expected. This gives matches a loose arcade quality where practiced technique can help, but players still need to improvise when a strange bounce or unexpected collision completely changes the situation. The modifiers are where the experience becomes considerably more ridiculous. Matches can introduce oversized balls, unusual shapes, explosive objects, freezing effects, fire, and other changes that disrupt ordinary foosball strategies. The selection includes unconventional objects such as coconuts, planets, crabs, bombs, and square-shaped alternatives that make each round harder to predict. Instead of simply mastering one type of ball movement, players regularly have to adjust to different physical properties and hazards. These combinations create the kind of accidental goals and sudden reversals that work particularly well in a party setting. Local multiplayer is consequently the strongest part of the package. Up to four players can participate, allowing matches to become increasingly hectic as more people join. The uncomplicated premise means newcomers can start playing without studying a long list of commands, while players who spend more time with the mechanics can gradually improve their positioning and reactions. Steam Remote Play Together is also supported, offering another option for playing with friends when everyone cannot be in the same room. The emphasis remains on shared multiplayer entertainment rather than a traditional ranked online competitive environment. Solo players have not been completely overlooked. Arcade Mode provides computer-controlled opponents to face and creates a more structured way to practice the mechanics. Unlockable characters and items add a progression element, encouraging continued play rather than presenting every piece of content immediately. Multiple arenas contribute additional visual and gameplay variety. These features make solo sessions worthwhile, although the game naturally loses some of its personality when there are no other human players around to react to its unpredictable moments. Visually, the bright and cartoonish presentation fits the concept extremely well. Characters and environments have enough personality to complement the absurdity of the matches without making the action difficult to follow. There is no attempt to make the sport look realistic or overly serious, and that decision works in its favor. The presentation communicates almost immediately that this is supposed to be an approachable arcade experience where strange situations and amusing failures are part of the attraction. Steam Deck compatibility is particularly promising because the game supports SteamOS/Linux and is built around controller input. Its modest system requirements also suit portable hardware well. The game is officially Steam Deck Verified, with its core functionality working through the handheld's controls and its interface remaining usable on the smaller display. Controller pro…
7/10 surprisingly fun + local co-op up to 4 player + fun and wonky powerups + solid controls - cant rebind controls. jumping is a big part of the game to block shots and to do that you need left and right stick press. lots of faster button choices that i cant use without 3rd party program - no multiball chaos mode -10$ price tag is a little much, would grab on sale
