delightful! I'm a tremendous fan of games that kinda let you zone out mentally and just engage mechanically, and the puzzles here enable that.

At first, the movement is so alien and unwieldy, but the weight of the momentum makes rolling around and slamming into walls a joy. Then, you start to steady your aim & find ways to normalize movement. The egg still fights back, but you wrangle the contours of the movement into a clean sequence of jumps. Each new checkpoint forces you to reckon with brand new applications of momentum, rotation, and arcs. Every time you try a jump, your egg will naturally never be in the exact same orientation. Once you learn how to account for variability & hit jumps consistently, your mastery of the environment has only just begun. You begin to optimize for speed, to string moves together that previously felt inaccessibly precise. Even by looking at surrounding terrain while charting a path, you gain the ability to map out how the egg will leap, fall, and knock into surfaces. The act of pointing your egg in any direction at all transforms from feeling like RNG to being completely under one's control. No checkpoint ever gets to the point of feeling rote or stale; the slight bevels in every single tile in this game ensure every attempt feels unique. The movement is so deep, so expressive, every single second you spend deepens your understanding of how to pilot such a ridiculous character. This process is unimaginably satisfying. You will get somewhat pissed at the egg's unflappable physics that never tilt towards or away from your desire to beat a level. However, this frustration is elegantly minimized by the meditative soundtrack and gentle void of everlasting rainfall. The soundtrack oscillates between chipper and brooding, giving life to the impressionist structures you find yourself at the mercy of. The minimalist beauty reminds you that the developer never wants to hurt you, just to show you something special. The intricate, blocky architecture reminds you that this world is finite: the next checkpoint is waiting for you just around the corner when you earn it. And with a new checkpoint comes a stunning new environment with a new flavor of decay & distinct patterns of tiling that completely change the way you piece together your way of climbing. I played this game alongside a couple of friends in multiplayer, and we plan to play & make a bunch of custom maps together using the live-simultaneous-editing features! It feels like such a blessing to be able to participate in this game's ever-expanding possibility space in any way. Lovely game!
