Moves Of The Diamond Hand

I had to buy this game after playing the demo for 2 hours. After purchasing the game I've now played quite a bit more of the next area where there are some spots the DEV notes are incomplete and thus blocked off. So FYI this is not quite a review of the full or final game, just some of what I am experiencing. I have not experienced something quite like this in a long time and I am starving for more of it right now. The allusions people make to Disco Elysium and Jazzpunk are on point. It feels like someone flipped the Disco-style visual novel idea on its backend. Where Disco is a STORY game with punctuated dice rolls you use to engage with a character-customized experience, MoTDH(this guy) is dice rolling game with a story/world integrated into its mechanical ideas. The game gives you quirky stats just like Disco has which i always appreciate, and they have a unique premise here as well. My last comparison to make because it jus feels relevant is the status conditions and ridiculous outfits. Getting drunk, frustrated, embarrassed, smug, etc and having that create more dice to manage with ontop of the items and disguises... its sick. Playing music, making drinks/pizza/sandwiches, theres so much going on here its a truly immersive and lived out space I want so much more of it. I think one of the things that has me hooked on these sorta stories versus like Baldur's Gate is... like Baldur's Gate is a serious story game that people love to goof off in. And then this is the goofy game that then i lock deep into. Plus cyberpunk futurist aesthetic is more my bag. Gamers beware there MAY be woke and gender in the game, if that is too much for you then go elsewhere

Long time fan of Cosmo D, so I am a little biased. Although, I am a fan because Cosmo D has created great game after great game. I became a fan via watching Vinny Vinesauce (streamer) play Cosmo D's games and fell in love with the music, atmosphere, story telling, etc. Love how there are multiple ways to play with different mechanics in the game. I sometimes just sit in this game and stare at at the environment or listen to the music but the actual gameplay is top tier. I highly recommend!

Another banger from my absolute favorite game dev. If you are into weird, artsy, humorous games that leave unexpectedly deep impressions then you have to give this game a try. And try out the rest of Cosmo D's collection while you're at it.
