Memory of Memorie : A Chill Story

I always wanted a game that allows me to go back in time into some magical fantasy world and live in it through my work. In Anime like Ascendance of a Bookworm you had the classic story: a girl works hard at a magical wooden desk with a candle late into the night working towards their goals and dreams. While I was watching those anime I felt more and more drawn to wishing I could also be inside those anime and feel how they feel. Be in a magical world filled with possibility and determination like those characters. Well this game brought this exact feeling into my life. I have tried many other apps and have left some reviews but a lot of other apps don't make me feel so determined. There is usually no purpose to these productivity games except for customization and them unlocks. But in this game the feeling of having someone there with you to work by your side is what makes this game so inspiring and wonderful. You never feel like you are alone and you feel this companion is growing their skills alongside your own so it doesn't feel forced or like you are alone in this. Like you are both becoming stronger together over time. I also just want to say that I feel this game hits on some satisfaction nodes with the ui. The use of highlighted buttons, satisfying vfx and animations makes this ui easy to understand and navigate. I love this game a lot and thank the developers for putting together something so wholesome and one can tell a lot of love was put into this game. I am grateful to have this working companion while I work towards my goals and while I am upskilling can feel just a little bit of magic while gaming. I feel a lot lighter knowing good things take time. If you are thinking about buying this game, please don't think too hard, it is worth every cent and you will not regret it.

I don't know if this works for concentration and productivity (I never have a problem with this two lol) but what matters for me is the waifu I have on the corner of my screen with some nice rain sounds and good music while I work.

I think this genre started with Lofi Girl. The idea is you have a desktop companion running in the background while you're doing your own stuff, kinda like an idle game. There are quite a few of these nowadays, and Memory of Memorie is the newest kid on the block. The main downside is that content is pretty limited at the moment, so you'll find the girl doing the same stuff over and over. I think Chill With You has way more variation and interactions, but this game wins in character design and fantasy vibes. Memoire is just too cute, and the magic mirror narrative connecting the two worlds is such a nice touch. I also really like the time-sync feature and randomized weather. I hope the dev will keep working on this, it has so much potential to be one of the best desktop companions out there. PS: A couple of suggestions: • Make it so we can level up by just idling, without being forced to use the timer. • Change the player level tooltip from "Level up with Pomodoro timer!" to "Time spent with Memorie: X". Watching numbers go up is a big part of the fun in idle games. • More utilities: Diary, calculator, notepad to jot down ideas, folders, custom bgm...etc. Or even a mailbox to send and receive letters from strangers (like Kind Words). • I think most of us just want to unlock content first and save the story for later, having to skip through like 20 stories in a row is such a chore, it would be great if we could unlock stuff directly without having to manually skip the stories. • Maybe add some one-time story or chat interactions that play out seamlessly inside the game. Right now, all the story content is pre-recorded, it would feel so much better if some of these conversations played out naturally during gameplay. I know this game takes heavy inspiration from other games in the genre, so the above suggestions apply to those other games too.
