Lavender Quartz 境界秤動

this game is a such a punch in the face (in a good way). really loved it i got too attached to the characters and kinda cried at the end aha.. hoping it gets a sequel someday...!

A short but polished experience. Main highlight - probably the visuals, but it's a well-directed game overall. LM7's elaborate background and sprite works do an incredible job at fleshing out the post-Soviet inspired settings, and I can appreciate that the hyperrealistic monochrome art style makes for a compelling change from the visual novel norm. Some stylistic touches were also brilliant - splitting the screen into a 3-pane layout, layering dynamic 3D elements onto traditionally 2D only backgrounds build realism and intrigue in a creative way. The minimalist UI design and font options are also tastefully consistent with the overall themes, though I preferred Serif over the default font. Writing-wise, the pacing is great, foreshadowing was well-executed, no excessive info-dumps symptomatic of strained efforts at world-building. Audio-wise, the ambience is great, the soundtracks complement the scenarios well, and I really like the unique audio feedback when advancing texts and opening backlog, which felt typewriter-esque. It's a relatively short read but worth the price imo. Would buy a sequel if it ever releases.
