like an old roblox free model game perpetually haunted by the middle schooler who made it. i think this game was never created and instead simply spawned in one day
sweet like rotting meat here are some things me and my friends have said about Kitten Love Emulator: - this cat game is *** rancid - i need to play this don't i - i'm amazed came out in 2018 - something is wrong - when i finally figured out what it wanted me to do i was punished by the game producing some of the worst sounds imaginable - something is wrong - i think this might be the final video game - this must have been how paul petscop felt - i think this video game has placed a curse on me [...] i just feel like it's going to cause some Ring *** to happen to me soon - what the ***? - this game is *** haunted - something is wrong kitten love emulator is an exploration / puzzle game about having a bad headache and a sinking feeling in your gut. solve almost point-and-click-style interaction puzzles (the first of which is 'how do i play this game') and progress further and further down a death spiral of playgrounds, malls, mazes, and dissolution. you play it first just to gawk; 2$ is more than enough for the first couple hours of chaotic enjoyment screensharing it in a discord call, but as it dawns on you that there is a progression system you keep playing, as you try to fill out all the locations on the grid you keep playing, as you press further to get the collectibles(?) you keep playing, and soon enough you look around and realize you're deep in a cartoonishly-lit love tunnel with rows and rows of teeth, or maybe it's just something's throat, and you can't go back anymore, you can only go through. so, you keep going. it is a distressing and disquieting experience, though, fascinatingly, a pretty conventionally constructed one. it speaks a very strange language, but once you learn it, the grammar isnt all that unfamiliar. if you're stuck, your helpful companion lucy fur (i love her, she's great) will give you a pretty heavy tip toward where to go. you can complete this game guideless without too much friction, especially if you properly rope in some friends and can sound it out with them. and i really do recommend you do this guideless. figuring it out is half the fun, anyway. getting absorbed within it is half the fun. it certainly hooked me. it took up a full week of my time, during which i thought about it essentially nonstop. i would try to take breaks, shut the game off, let the newest puzzle i was stuck on simmer inside my head a little, only to find myself booting the game up again an hour later to keep banging my head against it. what initially hooked me were pretty simple questions, ones shared by most of the other people on this page (especially the 0.5 star backloggd review which initially sold me on this game): why does this game exist? who made it? why did they make it like this? something about the deliberate way the game was constructed, throwing off occasional in-jokes i wasn't in on, i felt like i could learn about the people who made it by playing it. and it was satisfying to figure out the puzzles, anyway, and the random *** that would happen was pretty fun whenever it wasn't terribly overstimulating (and sometimes even when it was). so i kept playing. progressing deeper through the maze, you start to make connections, identify repeated symbols, and then the meaning hits you in a wave and you realize you are somewhere you should not ever be and you need to leave NOW. that's the actual experience of playing kitten love emulator: a slow curdling of everything around you, an entire aesthetic suffocating to death and withering away, a sinkhole on private property. something looks at you with the eyes of a child's drawing and cheerfully asks: why are you here? this isn't for you. they made this for []. but they're not asking you to leave, and it's hard to resist snooping, if you've already broken into someone's home. you can be a part of their private conversations for a little longer if you want. they probably won't come home for a while. even now, i find myself doubting the fiction of th…
im REALLY not sure what to say. The game was fun, i think? Maybe I missed something but the ending seemed a little... undercooked. It was definitely a very intriguing game to play though, and nothing will ever beat the first time i loaded up the game and wondered what the heck was going on at all.
