Infinite Lives

An insanely boring game where, after 4 hours of play, there’s literally nothing to do. Endless wandering around and fighting NPCs. While in a wrestling game this was fun largely thanks to the world simulation and news segments between matches, that’s completely missing here—interacting with NPCs is as boring as it gets. The game is unpolished and has very little content. The developer’s last update was in February. Seeing this kind of attitude from the developer, even the community quickly gave up on this half-baked piece of ***. Matt’s worst game is a project that, by all appearances, was created solely to cash in on fans. Judging by the number of reviews on Steam, not that many naive people bought this stinking pile of code. And I’m glad about that.

Incredibly dynamic and flexible systems for such a simple yet complex game. The fighting system (dervided from the dev previous games) is very good. the preset controls are quite jarring if you are a first-timer of his games (like me) but playing on controller is good. The only criticism is that the dev used AI for music and minor texture assets (Mainly the title screen) which should be replaced or at the very least have a option to listen to real, non-copyrighted music aswell as the original AI music (Because I'd imagine some people actually like the og AI music). However, the AI usage is understandable due to the game being an indie single dev game and it isn't too intrusive. The game is basically abandoned but it is not an issue because it is single player and the dev is working on other games like this.

All the hate this game gets is just people who haven't played an MDickie game before. Just played for like an hour and committed vehicular manslaughter on anyone who wasn't a civilian. Then I got my super powers for the first time and got the special ability of shooting white substances as I lasered 3 villains in a tech store with a laser gun to turn the tech store over to the civilian side. I even managed to make a villain a civilian during that whole event. I did all of this in 1 hour as I smiled to myself saying, "Ah a good old MDickie game". If you love MDickie games like I do, great game that usually goes on sale pretty frequently. I will admit though some of the negative reviews are funny to read.
