Head's Adventures:chibichibi is an inventive indie platformer developed by ManaWanderer and published by Steins, with 2P Games also serving as a publisher for the English Steam release. While its bright colors, adorable protagonist, and playful art style initially suggest a relaxing adventure, the game quickly reveals itself as a surprisingly layered experience that blends precision platforming, environmental puzzles, and physics-driven mechanics. Set inside a fragmented cyberspace, the story follows a tiny witch dressed in dinosaur pajamas who has been trapped by a cyber devil. Escaping this bizarre digital world requires exploring increasingly imaginative stages, solving creative challenges, and mastering an unconventional movement system that sets the game apart from traditional platformers. Rather than relying solely on running and jumping, the gameplay revolves around a distinctive mechanic that allows players to throw and transform into three different types of magical heads, each with its own special ability. These powers are integrated into both traversal and puzzle solving, encouraging players to think creatively instead of simply reacting to obstacles. The game's physics system gives movement a lively and unpredictable quality, making every successful jump, bounce, or transformation feel satisfying. Each level introduces fresh situations that build upon previously learned mechanics, preventing the adventure from becoming repetitive while rewarding experimentation and careful observation. The cooperative component is one of the game's strongest attractions. Local split-screen and Remote Play Together support allow two players to experience the adventure side by side, introducing teamwork into every stage. Cooperation becomes especially meaningful when one player is defeated, as the surviving partner can carry the fallen character until reaching a healing balloon capable of reviving them. This mechanic transforms mistakes into memorable moments rather than immediate failures, encouraging communication and coordination. The dynamic split-screen system also works well by separating the view when players explore different areas before smoothly reconnecting once they regroup, allowing freedom without sacrificing visibility or flow. Beyond simply reaching the exit of each level, the game encourages replayability through optional time-based challenges that reward efficient play and skill mastery. Healing balloons not only function as checkpoints and revival points but also become important elements of progression, giving players additional reasons to thoroughly explore each environment. The cyber-themed worlds remain visually varied throughout the adventure, featuring colorful digital landscapes filled with hazards, puzzles, and interactive objects that continuously introduce fresh gameplay ideas. According to the Steam page, the developers also intend to expand the experience with free post-launch updates, including additional themed stages and online multiplayer functionality, which adds long-term appeal for returning players. The presentation complements the gameplay with charming anime-inspired character designs and vibrant environments that balance cute aesthetics with surprisingly challenging gameplay. Smooth animations help bring the world to life, while the soundtrack reinforces the whimsical atmosphere surrounding the adventure. The developers are transparent about using AI-assisted content for portions of the music, title artwork, posters, and some environmental textures. Since these elements primarily support rather than define the overall experience, they generally blend naturally with the handcrafted gameplay without diminishing its creative identity. Head's Adventures:chibichibi succeeds because it confidently embraces originality. Its unusual combination of physics, transformation mechanics, cooperative gameplay, and platforming creates an experience that feels genuinely different from many indie title…

[後半に日本語レビューあり] Head goes boing, then BOOM, then bounding - a cute brutal co-op action This game takes the weird one-joke premise of throwing your head / blowing up your head / transforming into a head, and properly turns it into a 2D platformer with solid feel. Despite the cute anime-style look, the difficulty is on the high side, and it is easy to get tossed around by inertia and falling traps. But that very "easy to mess up" nature leads to laughs and fun, and the exhilaration when you succeed is strong. You can make footholds by throwing, switch between three head forms and use their unique skills (there is also a jump where you can fly depending on the direction your head is spinning, and it is hard to control), so the approach is surprisingly logical. Since collecting balloons and time-based objectives unlock the next stages, it might be good to aim for stable clears first, then tighten your times and pickups later. Split-screen co-op is also possible. While you move forward by dragging your partner to safety or reviving them with balloons, the fun of deliberately getting in each other's way also works. It gets exciting in a short time, but it is brutal enough to feel like a punishment game, so you need a certain amount of resolve. Solo is fine too, but with two people the laughs double. Check out our Steam curator (link) , YouTube channel (link), and X(Twitter) (link)!

A creative but inconsistent platformer with fun ideas that shine in co-op, yet feel frustrating and unreliable when played solo due to random mechanics and floaty controls. The controls are similar to those found in most platformers. You can move left and right, jump, and use a basic attack that allows you to kick objects. This attack works on anything that can be moved, and you do not need to worry about size or weight. Even massive boulders can be kicked around as if they were made of paper. The most interesting part of the game comes from its head based mechanic. By pressing a button, you throw a head that can stick to certain surfaces and function as a platform. Since you can throw an unlimited number of heads, it is possible to stack them and create larger platforms. Unfortunately, this mechanic is highly unreliable because it relies on randomness. A thrown head can have three different effects. It may stick to a surface or to another head, but more often than not, it simply bounces away. In the worst case, its eyes begin to glow, which indicates that the head is about to explode. While the explosion does not damage you, it can launch you in a random direction, which is especially frustrating during platforming sections. In some cases, it can even leave you unable to move. After being hit by an explosion, your character usually remains on the ground for a short time. However, you can sometimes be thrown into a position where getting back up is impossible, leaving restarting the entire stage as the only solution. The current head type is displayed in a bubble above the character’s head, but the differences between them are subtle and difficult to see due to the bubble’s small size. The sticky head has wide open eyes and a smile, the basic head has a neutral expression, and the explosive head looks mischievous. Because head types are randomized, you often need to throw them away repeatedly until you get the one you want. This becomes especially frustrating when you are trying to build platforms. Another ability allows you to transform into a head yourself. When you activate this form, all previously thrown heads disappear, which can be incredibly frustrating if you have carefully built platforms. While the head form is smaller and useful for fitting into tight spaces, its real value comes from its three abilities. These include sticking to surfaces, exploding, and performing a jump that sends you higher than the main character’s normal jump. The purpose of having both a main character and a head form becomes clearer in cooperative play. The game is clearly designed to shine when played with another person, allowing both players to assist each other. Of course, you can also ignore cooperation entirely and simply throw explosive heads at each other to create strange ragdoll moments. Playing alone is possible, but it becomes tedious if you are trying to uncover every secret. The game is divided into four chapters, each containing eight stages. The stages follow standard platforming design, requiring you to reach the exit while avoiding traps and navigating various platforms, springs, and other mechanics. Each stage must be completed in a single attempt, as there are no checkpoints. Death can occur very quickly, since a single hit results in failure. This happens frequently due to floaty controls and occasionally frustrating trap placement. Simply completing a stage earns you a medal, but you can also challenge yourself to beat it within a time limit or collect all the balloons to earn two additional medals. These objectives do not need to be completed in a single run, so you can replay stages and focus on whichever medal you are missing. Medals are required to unlock new chapters and additional stages, though you do not need to collect every single one. Overall, this is a solid platformer with a frustrating core mechanic when played solo, but a much more enjoyable experience with a second player. Playing with a fri…
