GemCraft - Frostborn Wrath

Great game, great endgame, great stuff all around. Really looking forwards to buying the legacy collection The Pros: Gem Craft My wife said "What is that satan in a bag sounds I hear?" when I was playing it when we were listening to music and the game was at about 15% sound... Would buy again Cons: Needs more satan in a bag.

Tower Defense at it's finest! Progression is excellent, and variety of buildings, gem effects, skills and talismans allows for almost infinite combinations. Story is also pretty nice. Early game might be challenging at times when you don't have enough skills/mana. After some time there's a clear 'meta' build and some skills/gems/buildings are simply not as useful as the rest of of options. Overral, highly recommend!

Good game. Kinda brutal with a grind. But if you are into hardcore TD games its good. I will say it does force micro heavy mechanics on you which kinda takes away from the chill experiance TD's typically are. Some mechanics and maps you will have to frantically juggle your gems around to have a chance to clear. You will be forced into memorizing hotkeys and getting sweaty at some point which may bother some people. Also expect to have to use the internet to learn. Some game mechanics are poorly explained or not explained at all. I strongly recommend looking up lists of the Wizards caches to know what to target or you may get to points on the map where you want to play but have no idea what to even do to progress which can be frustrating if you enjoy trying to figure things out yourself. I held out for my first 60 hours or so and I regret not looking things up when I did. There are also mechanics that punish you for progressing. You will unlock bosses that can come in and screw up your endless grind for XP which is not great. All in all if you really love TD's and want to be challenged in ways that can be frustrating this is one of the best ones out there. I would highly recommend it although I will caution its not for everyone. Maybe watch some 'beginners advice' videos or something before you dive in.
