Gorgeous game with a deep job system that I am only just starting to get into. Two things that I would adjust, allowing keyboard changes since the accept and cancel buttons being mapped to ctrl and alt respectively is a bold locked default choice. As for the second thing, I'd like to be able to choose any of the character portraits regardless of the job/class I'm trying to create a character for and possibly be able to swap their colors after I've made them. I'll report back after I've put more time, just wanted to give this feedback.
This is a great game. There is a lot of contents and the game can be quite long (prob about 2x-3x length of the typical final fantasy game). Dungeons are also very well made, they feature optional bosses, optional areas filled with lore, high end items, and stuff they you need to come back later for access. I find the class system to be overly complex, and there are lots of things that could go wrong. Basically you have multiple tiers of classes, each tiers feature 5-8 classes that you could mix and match. They include everything such as straight up damage dealer, debuffer to the weird ones such as pokemon-like summoners, turn controllers (a very unique adaptation of the classical time mage), etc. This class upgrade is also optional, so technically you could have 3 classes on a same character, or 2, or 5, etc up to you. This leads to the biggest issue with the class system, which is the description the game provides for each class is very barebone, and there aren't much ways for you to "reset" your character stats or classes. So choices made for your characters are permanent. This means you could lose out some classes or skills that could make a world difference for your playthrough. For example, from midgame onward, SP (mana) becomes a big issue for spell casters as advanced abilities consume a lot of mana. The game has very limited option when it comes to manage mana mid to late game (i.e. no tents equivalence like in Square Enix games or fully heal when level-up mechanic). However, there is this class that you can choose very early in the game that has the ability to literally recover mana for the whole party very cheaply every turn, which makes the whole world difference to your playthrough. So missing out that class because you choose other classes for example, would cost you a ton in the long term. I highly recommend that you look through a "Class Guide" online first, with many available via Google search, to have an overview of how they all work together. Other than that, I think it's a great game.
Wow. I like to think I keep my finger on the pulse when it comes to gaming but I somehow missed this one at release - definition of a hidden gem. Highly recommend.
