FAIRY TAIL

Game is pretty nice, I really enjoyed it as a Fairy Tail fan, but it does have several issues with the story(or at least I have issues with the game): some cool characters moments have been replaced with weird things like Cana's scene with destroying lacrima at Grand Magic Games has been attributed to our squad despite the fact that she does have animation of doing it in a fight, a few characters are being dangled before us as only temporarily playable only for a few moments(like Minerva, Ultear and Flare) despite them having everything that would allow them to be permanently available. Everything else thought is very good, models are great, skills are flashy, character interactions are amusing, many missions have fun twists..... I recommend waiting for a sale.

It ain't the highest quality stuff but I enjoy if but that's mostly for me to be a Fairy Tail fan and just enjoy playing as the characters. So take it all with a pound of salt from me. The turn based system wasn't something I was too into at first and I initially wasn't gonna play it because of that but I gave it the chance because recent big sales and I'd say it's been pretty fun and it really works for Fairy Tail to be turn based. Would've been fun for it to be more brawler and hack and slash but it does what it has pretty well. In regards of problems I'd give it more if you have issues with the graphical quality as I'd say there's 100% higher graphic stuff; it truly feels older than it really is because of that. I don't really have issues with that but for an IP as big as Fairy Tail it does feel kind of cheap at times but the game is also only like 5gb so for me I don't really mind that sort of trade off. It's truly a to each there own type of situation, I can only hope it's not for cheapness sake because if it is that's just disappointing.

I haven't even finished the game yet, but honestly, I've played enough to feel pretty confident writing this. If you're a Fairy Tail fan, this game is basically a playable love letter to the series. Obviously, nothing is going to beat the manga/anime itself, and the game does skip quite a bit. You basically get dropped into the story around 120 episodes in, and even during the arcs it covers, some smaller stuff gets cut. But honestly? For what it is, they did a pretty damn good job adapting it. Combat is your classic turn based party JRPG stuff. It's fun, straightforward, and occasionally involves beating up the same poor monsters a million times because my characters need more friendship. There is some grinding, and there's a ton of missions to do, but its the charm of this type of games. If you're a Fairy Tail fan, you'll probably get a lot out of this. And if you're just into turn based JRPGs, it's worth checking out too. EDIT: Post Game is even better than the actual game <3
