DAGURI: Gambling Apocalypse is an unusual indie title developed by DakeCraft and published by PsychoFlux Entertainment that blends RPG Maker-style exploration with a sprawling assortment of gambling activities. At its core, the game tells the story of Daguri, a former hero who saved the world only to squander his reward money in a reckless casino binge. Now buried in debt, he attempts to claw his way back to financial stability by doing the very thing that ruined him in the first place—gambling. This ironic premise shapes the entire experience, infusing the game with a tone that is equal parts dark comedy and cautionary absurdity. Structurally, the game presents a top-down 2D overworld reminiscent of classic RPG Maker projects. Players wander through towns and gambling hubs, interacting with various NPCs and accessing a wide range of betting-based mini-games. Traditional casino staples such as blackjack, poker, roulette, and slot machines sit alongside less conventional systems like horse racing, loot boxes, cryptocurrency mining, and even an in-game trading card game. The sheer breadth of gambling options is one of the title’s defining traits. Rather than centering on a single polished mechanic, DAGURI spreads its focus across numerous systems, giving players constant variety in how they choose to risk their in-game currency. However, the game’s approach to gambling is not about glamorizing it. In many ways, it feels intentionally hollow. Wins can happen, but they rarely feel triumphant; losses often sting more than expected. This creates a loop that mirrors the volatility and psychological strain of gambling itself. The mechanics are largely driven by probability rather than strategic mastery, and while certain mini-games introduce elements of decision-making, chance dominates the experience. That imbalance appears deliberate, reinforcing the satirical message at the heart of the narrative. Daguri’s attempt to “solve” his problems by gambling more becomes a gameplay metaphor for the futility of chasing losses. Presentation plays a significant role in how the experience is perceived. The visuals are simple, relying heavily on static sprites and text-based results rather than flashy animations or elaborate sound design. Slot machines don’t dramatically spin with cinematic tension, and roulette wheels don’t command attention with elaborate effects. Instead, outcomes are often displayed in straightforward text windows. This minimalist approach keeps the game mechanically clear but strips away the sensory excitement typically associated with casino simulations. For some players, this reinforces the bleak humor and anti-glamorization of gambling. For others, it may make the experience feel flat or emotionally distant. Despite these limitations, the game maintains a certain charm through its self-awareness. The absurdity of a world-saving hero spiraling into financial ruin due to poor impulse control is played with a dry comedic edge. NPC dialogue and environmental details hint at a world that recognizes the ridiculousness of Daguri’s situation. There’s a persistent irony running through the design, as if the game is winking at the player while simultaneously trapping them in the same cycle of risk and retry. The open-ended structure also allows for player-driven pacing. You can move between different gambling systems, experiment with various strategies, and explore the world at your own speed. While none of the individual mini-games reach the depth of a dedicated casino simulator, the collective variety creates a sandbox of probability-driven experimentation. Some players may find satisfaction in optimizing their approach to certain games or discovering small efficiencies, even if luck ultimately overrides most calculated decisions. Repetition is perhaps the most significant challenge the game faces. Because the core loop revolves around earning money through systems dominated by chance, progress can sometimes feel incons…
Aqui no, o no la he encontrado.
DAGURI is very addictive. The game isn’t balanced particularly well… but honestly, that feels like the point. Gambling isn’t fair! I had a blast experimenting with different ways to exploit the mechanics and chase absurd profit. My progression of “winning” the game went something like this: Win #1: Online auction flipping Win #2: Sell cards → win tournaments → mine crypto Win #3 (Hard Mode): Sell Level 5 swords → rooster fights → Ace Breakers (I was making money faster than crypto mining — about 40mil per win) It’s a great game for a certain kind of player — those who enjoy optimizing broken systems and laughing at how degenerate their strategies become. Not for everyone, but if you like games like Balatro and have $2 to spare, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. Questions I Still Have I could equip the sword, but I never found any other equipment — is there more out there? Is the only secret/cheat turning horses into anime girls? (If so… incredible choice.) Wishlist / Suggestions Add a practical investment option like mutual funds: something more stable than crypto, but better returns than the basic bank interest. Overall: chaotic, janky, hilarious — and I enjoyed every minute of breaking it.
