Ctrl Alt Ego

IMO one of the most enjoyable modern im-sim games. It starts a bit weak in the tutorial and first chapter, but expands into a very good stealth game, with lots of secrets and alternative solutions/paths to take.

Enjoyed the game but was having an issue when using the Pup. If I collided into anything with a lip (climbing a ladder/ crawling over something laying on the floor) then the mouse would start to drift to the top left of the screen (also resisted going to the bottom right) and became too annoying to continue. If did not seem to happen with anything other than the Pup. (Just to note, there is no controller/joystick plugged into the PC) Could not find a resolution in the 2 hours so am refunding which is a shame as the game was fun prior to the issue.

A very lukewarm thumbs up; the story in this game is terrible and the dialogue is somehow even worse most of the time but the gameplay is very "genuine" and gets quite good once you get past the initial slog of the quite bad introductory chapters, when I thought the game was going to end it threw in a whole new big chapter two times in a row, some might think this is a good thing but I'd have to disagree as it left me unsatisfied both times with what I've accomplished, one surprising continuation would've been more than enough, the last level really sucks either way, should've definitely been cut and the office area feels like a solid ending anyway, oh well. Not a perfect game by any means but I still enjoy it's mechanics and their interactivity, don't think I will ever bother fully replaying the game beyond trying out the new game+ mode (supposedly has new abilities? Why even lock them behind NG+?) and the missions. Finished the game with 324 ego, missed about 10-12 worms, 2 upgrade disks and like 3-4 memory sticks in total across my entire playthrough, definitely should have had some kind of way to find them easier since the hiding spots are sometimes beyond stupid, just having them glow or make noises when nearby is clearly not enough when I miss this *** while exploring every level in their entirety. 6\10 (slightly above average)
